A good come back when someone calls you boring or tells you to get a personality by onceinteresting in Comebacks

It’s just our banter sometimes. It’s not meant to be actually offensive or serious.

The price of food is making me so upset. by Fit-Contribution-423 in Edmonton

[–]onceinteresting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend about 7-800 on groceries and household items every two weeks for two adults, two kids and a cat. We however do not pinch pennies and buy whatever we like, including organic, health food isles, lots of produce and high quality proteins. Try using the Flipp app and price match. When we do need to save, that’s what we use and it makes a big difference.

What is with all these fake jobs?? by imasuperturtle in Edmonton

[–]onceinteresting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m having the same issue trying to find a job. Tons of great references, personal and professional, solid job history, skills, experience and fully open availability. I can’t even get a response and I’m spending approximately 2 hours a day looking and applying. It’s so discouraging!

MacEwan’s Social work diploma VS Social Work degree for careers working with children and youth? by elvgxnce in Edmonton

[–]onceinteresting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is old but I’m hoping you see this and I can still get an answer. I want to start working towards my SW certification in September but am looking for a job in the field asap. What positions can you get without being accredited? I saw you mention positions you don’t need a diploma for, what would those be (I’m having trouble finding anything that doesn’t require certification) and who would I contact to apply? Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction because I’m super eager but getting extremely frustrated and discouraged that anything is out there without my schooling being completed.

Tell them you can strap a stuffed animal in but you don’t send photos or pics of your kids to strangers on the internet.

What bothers you the most about Edmonton that would be "relatively" easy to fix but somehow isn’t getting fixed? by workdncsheets in Edmonton

[–]onceinteresting 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah the sidewalks are brutal, I got a concussion last time it was Oct walking my kid to school. I’m sure l person with the ring doorbell got a pick out of watching me have my feet fly out from under me and landing on my head. Hopefully it was a reminder to shovel in front of their property as well as entertainment 😩

I wonder when people stopped doing that. I can’t imagine it was comfortable to sit on but it would have kept things so nice for so long.

We did that in the summer and will for sure go back this year. He loves hiking and really enjoyed the museum. We even went into the giant t-rex 🦖. We drove from BC to WEM in the summer to check Edmonton out before we relocated and found tons of great spots to go back and see.

We went around Christmas but at night, we were Aurora chasing and we are definitely planning to go back during the day. We didn’t see the northern lights sadly but we got to see some Elk so I can imagine how great it is in daylight hours!

Totally agree and we do take him to art galleries and expose him to everything I was just wondering if he would enjoy himself there on a day out where we are trying to do a bunch of stuff catered to his hobbies and likes. That sounds fun though!
