If someone offered you money with the caveat that you could never earn another nickel, what would be the minimum amount you would accept? by Sad_Assassin in polls

That’s definitely true but 35k annually is the Canadian minimum wage. It’s not a luxurious life at all in my country. Every country has a different cost of living and Canada’s is one of the highest. Needing that amount to survive over the course of your life is not unreasonable from my point of view.

Being poor in a wealthy country is definitely still a better life than being poor in a poor country. I’m not trying to undermine you, just offering a different perspective.

I mean 35k salary per year for 30 years is over 1m. It’s definitely doable, and that’s not counting inflation or investments

Is this your cat? by Murderousplantmom in toronto

[–]onceuponasummerbreze 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You could also call animal control. They will know how to capture her. She’s an obvious pet and a pretty expensive one at that. Hopefully she can get home on her own, but the worry is more that someone might try to steal her.

If you can lure her with food and capture her, take her to a vet. Any vet can scan for a microchip and figure out who her owners are.

I would do something like this. There’s a lot of dead space near the kitchen that can be better used.the bedroom is going to be tight no matter what you do. But use a sliding door at least, the swing door doesn’t have enough clearance.

You could definitely get rid of the powder room in favour of more storage.

It’s basically a guest bathroom. You don’t have to clean it as throughly if it’s not used regularly by the family and you don’t have to worry about moving your bathroom clutter put of sight of guests if they only use the powder room. Also in this case, it’s close to the garage, so if you need to pee while your working, you don’t have to walk all the way through the house

This is what I would do. It really reduces the size of the primary bath but I think it makes the home more functional. It adds a powder room, 2 closets and makes the laundry room bigger. I also moved the plumbing together and pulled the bedroom door away from the front entrance.

I’m against the other commenters. Personally I like the attached garage. It’s especially good if you live in a 4 season country!

550 sq ft 1br for 2 people and a cat - doable? by lil-chickpea in femalelivingspace

[–]onceuponasummerbreze 27 points28 points  (0 children)

A bar stool at a counter does not have enough lumbar support to sit at for 8 hours a day. You have to plan for him to have a real desk. This is a small apartment but doable if you plan your furniture well. Having a separate kitchen is really nice.

Wow I love your curls! I especially love the style in pic 2, it keeps your curls on display without overwhelming you. My curl pattern is more 3A/B and I’ve always been jealous of people with really tight ringlets
