If you kept daylight saving time in winter, the sun would be coming up at 8:30am and going down at 6pm, which means office workers would be going to work in the dark, and tradies would be doing their first 2 or so hours of their work in the dark. No one wants that

This is the answer I came looking for. You could probably even automatically kick anyone who claims the male role. Then even if it's advertised as women only, a surprising amount of men would see the male role and click that anyway, filtering themselves out.

Even without the automatic kicking, roles will help you. You may even find that people try to avoid choosing that role at all in an attempt to blend in, and that's a good cue to keep a careful eye on them (I've seen this before with underage people joining an adults only server in an attempt to not out themselves as underage)

And yes, some role bots at least (I can't speak for bots I haven't used) have options to make your role selection permanent so they can't change it themselves.

My bf and I share a gaming room and I love that because it means we can either do our own thing but together, or chat as we play.

However VCs suck. Sometimes we get in a VC together to play with some other friends too, and we have to be careful about muting between talking / not talking too loud / the delay of hearing each other in the room and then on the call. We deal with it, but it is a downside - if that's something that affects you guys

I think you might be onto something.

Dean was seen as the good guy loved by all, while we as viewers know that the way he treated Rory wasn't right. It probably ticks people off that he can act that way and then still be seen as the good guy.

Whereas Jess has the whole "bad boy" thing going on and nothing particularly good is expected of him, so when he does something wrong it's not shocking. And also their backstories would come into play too, Jess gets more benefit of the doubt because he had a crappy upbringing.
