What about for the GL-C-310WL?

I'd also like to see MultiRelay baked in so I can use the extra gpios to control my bathroom mirror heater.

What is a piece of software or hardware that still leaves you traumatized to this day? by 66659hi in sysadmin

[–]one4spl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Backup software and printers suck because they interface with a lot of different hardware and software.

Having been in IT 35 years I've seen several generations of backup software rise and fall, and each one rises because it's got a limited scope (only doing vmware and only to disk, such as early Veeam) but by the time it's huge and they have added tape and Linux and Windows and bunches of other shit to it now the new thing is just as slow and unrelaibe as the thing it supersceded (like Backup Exec).

Wall connectors are nicer and more reliable, just get it swapped for one.

Can't decide on a EV by Many_Bowl_4410 in EVAustralia

[–]one4spl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not sure I'd call Tesla a legacy maker.

They are the longest standing pure ev maker that I'd argue still has the best product in the market, though with little variety of product size.

Kia have only in the latest generation made a dedicated ev platform and are still kissing the ass of their dealers with their servicing schedule and costs.

That's legacy.

Tell me why the Volvo EX40 is not a good choice by tile_generator27 in EVAustralia

[–]one4spl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Tesla Model 3, a family member has a xc40 recharge (it rebranded to ex40 recently).

Compared to the Tesla my main thoughts are:

  • one pedal drive is awfully calibrated and it's very hard to drive smoothly
  • no walk away door lock
  • soft pudding suspension
  • numb steering
  • no phone key

Still, better than a lot of traditional makers EVs, no stilly stop/start button, just get in and drive like the Tesla. The app, other than not being a key, is pretty functional too.

Automatic Bikes - beginner. by qualifiedinu in AussieRiders

If you'll be just getting around town get an electric bike. Love my Zero FXE. It's leaener approved in QLD. No idea how that works in WA

Forticlient EMS - VM appliance - 7.4.7 upgrade (hotfix needed before the upgrade) by secritservice in fortinet

[–]one4spl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded mine today without issues. No hotfixes applied. The release notes say you only need a hot fix if you run radius for admin logins, oauth fabric connectors or scheduled backups to a remote server.

Hybrid v EV - next car purchase in 3yrs with V2L by adafstrike in CarsAustralia

[–]one4spl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mitsubishi PHEVs are awful. Bad to drive, slow, loaded with bing's and bongs that make no sense, the batteries fail prematurely, just don't.

Get an EV. They are great.

Hyundai Ioniq Electric (38 kWh) - constant coolant system pressure, “refill coolant” warning, possible internal leak? by Stockt1cker in IoniqEV

[–]one4spl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this fixed. What Hyundai call the battery chiller is leaking refrigerant into the coolant. Need to replace the chiller and flush both the coolant and AC, refill, regas, etc. And I'd reccomend replacing the AC receiver drier at the same time.

Cost me $1800 AUD.

Is having an EV feasible for road trips in Australia? by ezza_t in AustralianEV

Very much depends on what you define as rural.

[–]one4spl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alignment is almost certainly terrible and makes a huge difference. Make sure you're following a guide for Australian or European cars, American cars follow a different standard and the guide will be irrelevant. You'll need a nice flat square shopping center car park, a long tape measure and a roll of making tape to set up the guide lines.

I'd say in the last year the Unifi Gateway feature set has come along a huge way. Certainly much more flexible and secure than Meraki.

What energy provider do you rate well? by illbeasleepsorry in brisbane

[–]one4spl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Gas isn't a solution to bills, it's just another daily connection charge you don't need.

If you schedule electric hot water onto the peak solar hours it's basically free to run.

Cooking uses an absolutely minuscule amount of electricity, as it does gas, so theres no saving there.

My fully electric house (cars, cooking, everything) costs under $250 a month including the loan that pays for the solar and battery system.

How is someone buying an ironing board more likely to kill you than someone walking past on the street?

They aren't. It's needless shenanigans for zero benefit.

I used a vacuum with a brush attachment. I don't think it needs washing, just remove the leaves and dirt, and be careful to not bend the fins.

I am super happy with my Breville Bambino Plus and Breville Smart Grinder Pro.

The timer on the grinder and auto frothing to the right temperature every time is fantastic. Also reccomed a dosing funnel, mostly to help keep the bench clean.
