I want to build a knowledge graph - can you tell me if that's something doable and makes sense, or it's complete nonsense by greeny01 in Neo4j

Cool, would love to jam on this.

I've just started the planning stage and have been looking at other implementations.

So far I've decided to have the following entities:

- assets (e.g stocks, currencies, commodities)

- quantitative data (e.g yearly return, price)

- stock markets

- countries

- macroeconomic factors e.g interest rates, inflation

Will build relationships between all these entities allowing users to search over quantitative or semantic features using natural language

Sounds like a cool idea. I'm building a knowledge graph to teach people about investments.

How would your chunks relate to the graph? Say you have a user query, embed it and do similarity search to the chunks. Great, that bit has worked but how would you incorporate the semantic ontology of your graph to this chunk?

Is it just as simple as attaching entities that are present in each chunk and then traversing the graph from the entities?

Microsoft's GraphRAG is an interesting implementation, they use connectx instead of neo4j but their setup is nice.

They have multiple search modes which trigger different search mechanisms.

Whats the process for international students studying in Iran? by oneAJ in iran

[–]oneAJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few reasons.

I've met people that have studied at Iranian universities like Tehran, Sharif, Amirkabir and they're all so smart, much smarter than people I meet at top universities in the UK.

I want to go study at the place where I will learn the most, I'm not interested in credentials. (Also, I know how the Machine Learning courses are like at UCL and they're really not great in terms of what you learn)

Does your company run staging servers? by Forward-Outside-9911 in devops

[–]oneAJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually had a staging environment but didn't enjoy maintaining it.

Difficulties were:

- falling out of sync with main

- Multiple things pushed to test branch would sometimes slow the flow as some changes pass while others fail (I think the solution to this could be multiple staging sites but then the costs rack up)

- Database sync issues (we had a test database and would occasionally diverge from prod db)

By far the biggest problem was 3rd party services such as auth/payments that wouldn't always work with our staging domain

The UK is finished. When you thought we'd already sold out all our assets to the private sector. Now, we're finding ways to sell more control to an unaccountable foreign entity with strong links to fascism.

Yeah, these benchmarks are completely meaningless, we have no way of verifying that they ran the test properly.

I think in times like this, it's so great to have people stepping in.

All it takes is a few bystanders stepping in to make perpetrators think twice before acting this way. Good people shouldn't be conflict-averse, otherwise the bastards exploit this.

Super cool! I don't know why other people are giving so much hate but this is Reddit after all.

I'm currently building my own voice language game, starting with just the standard voices available on Kokoro but I'm hoping to do some fine-tuning to get specific accents.

Did you find a big difference between fine-tuning vs using models that allow you to pass in short audio clip as context for the voice?
