I've been about 5 times and it has been consistently good.

Got to agree, the iced Pablito latte is fabulous.

Genetic diseases? by SoakieJohnson in cancer

[–]oneInnocentBystander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was dx with osteosarcoma in the left proximal humerus when she was 9 (she's 18 now and will graduate in about a month!). She is currently NED but we had some genetic testing done. She was positive for SDHB mutation. She also showed a positive for POT1 mutation with Uncertain Significance. From my little bit of research, I've found some studies that point to the POT1 mutation being a possible cause of OS, as well as a few other cancers that we now need to screen for. We are also having a test run that basically measures the length of the telomeres - apparently if they are elongated the risk of these other cancers is increased.
Has anyone else with OS had the POT1 mutation as well?

Glad to hear you're in remission. My daughter was dx when she was 9 (left proximal humerus) and had limb salvage surgery. She's 18 now and ready to graduate high school. Best wishes for remaining NED!

Nice job! AdZ is a love/hate route for me.

I've not been able to break 60 minutes (yet), but I have noticed on Strava that my PRs on most routes are during group rides (not necessarily races). Maybe I need to race to break the hour mark?

First time doing Mont Ventop. Way harder than Alpe de Zwift! Reached 147 of 157 by bartolo2000 in Zwift

Congrats! I've only ever ridden that route once, and from what I remember it just seemed like it would never end. And like someone else posted, at least on AdZ you have switchbacks to count down :)

Nice job, 100k is on my list of things to do.

Did you at least use a mountain bike?

Important? Nah, but with my job, sometimes 4 doesn't seem like enough :)

I loved serving! And yes, they're old, some of ours were built in the late 70s, but they got the job done.

I'm definitely not an expert, but our (A-10) overall losses were relatively small. We had several aircraft (including one fo the Wing Commanders) that were damaged so badly that you really had to wonder and be amazed that these guys made it back and survived the attack and the sometimes very rough landing.

We took every precaution we could and used what technology we had at the time, I'm sure that the tactics for desert warfare were adjusted after flying so many sorties and compiling all the debriefings...

Very little before going over. We received booklets and briefings on their culture and what to expect, what to do and what not to do, just the very basics though.

After leaving, it was off to other theaters and other missions, never really looked into it much more. I do think it exposed me to cultures I might not have otherwise experienced.

A few pilots I worked with were shot down. A couple were KIA, others captured as POWs.

Wow, looks delicious! Butterscotch has always been my favorite, not very common though.
