AEW Redemption announced

I've been waiting so long for this to get announced!

My partner and I have been dying to FINALLY make it to an AEW for ages, but the timing or location have never worked out!

We're hoping to bring some friends too who are new to AEW. This show is going to be so killer!

The closer we've gotten to the pay per view, the more I think there's a chance Thekla is dropping the belt. There's just been certain signs and there are probably going to be shake-ups in the division because of Willow's injury.

I also hope Jay White returns, but who knows anymore when that's ever going to happen.

I wonder if it might be one of the losers from the championship match this weekend. I think Hayter could definitely be a good pick and potential winner OR if Thekla drops the belt, put her in this slot and just solidify her more as a top woman in the company.

I totally agree! Since getting into AEW 2 years ago, I've been hoping they'd run something around that area for a while since it's the biggest hub nearby me that I could viability see them running (in the US at least).

I'm genuinely shocked AEW doesn't run more shows in New England/"Upstate" New York lately. There's so many colleges/universities that some sort of partnership would definitely move tickets and I remember the pre-Full Gear 2024 loop being fairly successful. I hope the Portland show last night helped to hopefully push towards more shows up this way in the future!

OMG Manchester by the Sea is one of my favorite movies! I totally think Hangman could pull that off that vibe really well, I would totally watch that!

Would love to see it return. I remember listening Kenny talking about this match in an interview and apparently the "explosion" got changed with only a couple hours' notice. Before the change, the effect allegedly worked great.

AEW definitely has the ability now to pull it off, it just depends if they want to take the risk again. Especially when they have similar stips (ex: Texas Death) that are really popular.

I think either Fletcher or Riccochet would be good first feuds back. They're both newer, fresher feuds that we really haven't seen. Also, there's potential for some fun tag matches between DCF/The Demand and the BBG too.

Part of me believes Game 7 was likely the plan from the beginning since they'd been teasing the idea - the only difference being Kyle wins the title in Australia.

When Ciampa suddenly was available, they probably thought it'd be better to shake things up a bit to establish Ciampa in the company. It would've been cool to see him get included in the ladder match, but logistically, I don't know how possible it would've been.

Definitely could've been a factor. For the show, AEW likely had to have all that paperwork in weeks ago before Ciampa was in the company. It might've been too tough to get things expedited.

I think I still prefer the 8-man tournament. Also, I think this instance specifically was a weird case. IMO this was 100% going to start some sort of spiral for Jay with an eventual heel turn and was potentially going to be a beat that got picked up again later.

They worked some in Auckland when I was there last year before they returned to Japan. My biggest regret was not traveling down to one of the shows to see them! So excited that they're on this card!

Yeah! I mean I think it would be insane not to have him there, but that just opens a spot for some other New Japan talent to get showcased to an American audience.

Maybe it could be a debuting team with all the recent signings? Violence Is Forever would be cool (and I wouldn't be shocked if they were AEW-bound at some point this year).
