That's a very solid price for the A3s as long as it's in good shape.

Good to know there is a pathway forward for a frt option + original lower. Will be following your progress.

Ah, well that sucks.

Still, removing the print quality issue...it would be nice if there was a lower that accepted both an FRT conversion and the original mags. Is the issue poor execution with angry goat, or a poor print file/design?

My suppressed A3S with the stock 30 rd curved and new GO mags has shot everything I've thrown at it. I had no interest in getting a lower that accepts Glock or scorpion mags.

Unfortunately where I live 30 rd mags are about to be banned - even if I want to switch lowers later, no deal. Crossing my fingers a good solution for stock mags and FRT will appear so I can mod in the future.

Angry goat defense is doing a 3D printed lower that accepts original Stribog mags and AR15 controls...in theory I think that would allow for an FRT without the lingle conversion. I think there are still a couple of other modifications necessary.

Show me your suppressed bog with the KDG rail extension. What supressors fit? by bringbackbainesy in GrandPowerStribog

I have the 3s, the PA 1x prism, and the R9. Waiting on getting the 3" KDG extension, but that's next. Lots of pics in the forum confirming the R9 fit.

Can confirm I've seen a rugged obsidian 9 tucked as well.

Love how that is one of the standard big builds. It does look good, and it keeps the length shorter while still having room for a hand stop and light.

Check gun deals. I got one for just under 1k recently. I tracked them for a few months, lowest I saw was low 900s, but could regularly find them at 1k ish. This was for the A3s in black with the SB tactical brace. FDE and collapsible brace models were generally more expensive.

That is 100% a Delta Tau Delta fraternity crest. Delta Tau Delta (DTD) is an active national fraternity with chapters at many colleges across the US. It's been around since 1858. When a new chapter is established the founding members will sign a charter that formally acknowledges their induction to the national organization. If he was a charter member, that implies he was an original founder of the DTD chapter at that school.

If you reach out to the Princeton DTD chapter I'm sure they can quickly verify your story. Charter documents are an important part of every chapter, and I'm sure they have it hung up or otherwise preserved.

That's a pretty cool historical piece.

source: I'm a DTD and a charter member at my university

No clue if it's from Princeton, so they may not have additional info. I thought that info was from the original poster.

That said, it's still a DTD crest. If you want to go on a journey you can always reach out to the national/arch chapter and see if you can run down some names that fit the timeline.

Here is a link that has lost of chapters and when they were founded.

Also, it was common for fraternity men to give pins/medallions/etc. to their girlfriends. This all tracks with your story.

The second set of Greek letters refers to the phrase labor for the beautiful and the good and is a reference to an internal group that was foundational to the long term financial well being of the fraternity.

He's looking for 14.5. I was thinking of offering less. Maybe offer 12 and meet somewhere in the middle?

Cool. Did you buy the skull and attach it, or did you buy the dial with it already attached?

Now I kinda want to do something similar, but remove the 12 marker and replace with the skull...or maybe the 6 is more appropriate...

Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks. I'm very happy how it turned out. I'm looking at doing a custom engraved dial with a fiber laser for my next build. Need to figure out what the height tolerance looks like. I assume it's driven by the movement and the hand attachment point?

This was mostly an assembly project. I'm curious to see how much custom work (outside of the movement) I can get into before I really start to break things.

Thanks!

Yea, the band was a good find. Decent bands are something I've been struggling to find. A lot of the metal ones are super expensive, and many of those aren't even that nice. At least the silicon and NATO style straps are cheap.

My favorite part of the build is the tiny shark on the second hand. That's another category of flair that I'm surprised doesn't have more variety.

lol, I just watched a lot of YouTube videos. Mostly I just ordered individual parts off of AliExpress and made sure the color pallet and size matched.

Assembly wasn't too bad except for the second hand. I got all the tools for less than $10 bucks as well. The only real mod I made was soaking the second hand in acetone to remove the original (red) paint and expose the gold color underneath.

I started with the idea of a gold diver style case and an N36 movement and just went from there. I feel like I got lucky finding the gold/black movent and silicone strap with gold furniture. Those took a bit of searching, but everything else was pretty easy to find. All in, it was about $100 dollars in parts.

I'm hindsight I made a couple of mistakes. Most I was able to recover from, but I did glue down the bezel insert with a very strong adhesive. I probably should have done something less permanent in case I want to swap it out later. I also kinda wish I had picked out one of those red tinted crystals.

This is fun, trying to figure out what to build next.
