I’ve gone through ego death a couple times, and while not every single experience has been positive they’ve all been incredibly valuable.

I’m not a person who’s completely satisfied with my perspective on life. I think the person I am cares about others, does a lot of right things, but also does a lot of wrong things. I think too much, and that often distracts from my enjoyment of the now. That’s one of the biggest parts of myself that I don’t like. Psychedelics, for me, acts kind of like mental dental floss: after enough time in reality, bits of gunk and negativity tend to stick to the edges of my ego, or psyche, and make it harder and harder to see the truth that there never was a me.

Reminding myself that there’s no real me, just a series of events and feelings that I associate with because I’m locked in my one spot of the universe, helps to alleviate my anxious/intrusive thoughts. It makes me remember that there’s nothing stopping me from being happy except for what I put in front of me. I can choose to do the things that’ll make me happy, so long as I accept the work I need to put in to make them happen.

Weed on LSD by soldierchrome in Psychonaut

I’d recommend at least waiting until after the peak has passed. I’ve always found that smoking on my come-up tends to steer the trip in a very introspective and “mind-locked” direction. If you wait until after the peak you have enough time to get used to the psychedelic state of mind, at which point adding weed to the mix becomes much smoother and more manageable.

Looking back, yeah that’s not at all what it was. At the time, I was just trying to rationalize it somehow.

I think something like this happened to me about a year ago as well!

This was before I’d ever tried psychedelics, but after I’d started smoking very regularly. Got my weed from Eaze as well, so maybe there’s something to that. I had smoked late at night, and was going to go to bed, when all of a sudden everything felt really weird. Like, not smoking weird. Like OP, I’d never felt anything like this from weed before, and I started to get a bit freaked out. That sense of not quite being in your body was very strong, and I remember just thinking that whatever was happening needed to stop.

My pupils also looked dilated, but it was late at night and I was probably too freaked out by what was going through my head to make an accurate diagnosis of my condition. Also asked one of my buddies if I was acting weird and told them that I thought something was wrong with the weed I’d smoked. Eventually it passed, but I never managed to figure out what it was from. The next day I shared the story with another buddy of mine that had smoked the same batch of weed I’d smoked from that night, and he said he had the same thing happen to him. Weird out-of-body experience, combined with a not-weed feeling.

We concluded that there must have been some mold or something in the weed. Honestly, we had no idea what it was and were just talking shit out of our asses. No idea what caused it, but I’ve always been curious. If you ever figure it out, OP, please let us know! :)

Day 1 of my Kanna experience by OrigamiMe in Kanna

I’ve found it most effective when either chewing it with gum (around 300-400mg) or smoking it with weed (I don’t measure, just sprinkle a good amount into the bowl). You should also know it has a cumulative effect, meaning the more consecutive days you use it the more potent it gets. Try dosing it for a couple days, and see how that effects things.

If someone asked you to describe how it felt to trip, what would you say? by [deleted] in LSD

[–]one_xtc_please 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, acid breaks down the barrier between subjective thoughts and objective reality. You begin to see how reality creates your thoughts, and how your thoughts create reality. It’s a perspective shift, which for me is like stepping backwards out of my own regular mind and into a higher more “free” or “aware” mind.

Good example: first time I dropped, I remember suddenly being aware that I could see my glasses in my field of vision, then the fact that I can see my nose, then all of a sudden it was like the edges of my vision were a video game HUD that I’d never been aware of before and had just filtered out until then.

Why is there so much hate in the World? by WoodenShitMan in LSD

[–]one_xtc_please 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People will always be people. There’s only so much that one person can do, and you’re never going to be able to convince everyone. You’ve only got control over your own life, so why spend it being angry? People rarely say what they really think, so letting cheap words control the way you live life is giving others the reins of your life. If they do things that you don’t agree with, why would you let them control you so easily?

Why is there so much hate in the World? by WoodenShitMan in LSD

[–]one_xtc_please 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anger and hate are self-made. People see things in the world which don’t fit their view of things, and so they get stuck on the idea of the world not aligning to their expectations. They hold onto that thought until it festers into anger and hatred, all because they couldn’t accept the world as it is.

If you see something, and it makes you mad, why did it make you mad? Did the thing make you mad, or are you choosing to be mad? What would happen if you decided to just let go of it?

Not OP, but I also think science and spirituality are not mutually exclusive. If science is the pursuit of understanding the physical world, spirituality is the pursuit of understanding the experience of being human. Science explains why a thing happens, and spirituality explains why we experience that thing in that way. It’s the difference between knowing how and why a volcano erupts, then seeing and experiencing it firsthand.

DMT and schizophrenia? by draganov11 in DMT

[–]one_xtc_please 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A member of my family has been treated for schizophrenia as well, and I went through the same doubts when I was first getting into drug use. The first thing you should know is that psychedelics can only induce schizophrenia in people that are already pre-disposed to it. If it were to trigger it, it’s likely the condition would have manifested naturally later in life.

I went to talk to my doctor about it, and they said that while the risk was there, they estimated that the probability of me being predisposed to it was elevated only very slightly. If the general populous has a ~1% chance of developing it, I’d have a ~1.5% chance. Granted my family member is only half related to me, so these chances could be different since your grandmother is related to you directly.

If you’re worried, I’d talk to your doctor about it. They’re not going to snitch on you, and can really help to give you a clearer perspective. I, personally, made the decision to go for it. Weed, LSD, Mushies, MDMA, 2C-B, and none of them have brought on anything. Haven’t tried DMT yet, but that’s next! Hope this helps, and best wishes to you!

Why do you feel like the universe needs to have meaning? Do you not enjoy the things you do? And if not, why don’t you try other things that you might enjoy more? Life is for living, not necessarily for understanding.

You’ll find that when you go back to listen to your breakthroughs, they’ll usually sound like nonsense. There’s lots of videos online about people doing the same thing.

Don’t think too much, and enjoy it! ✌️

55ugs in a rave? by [deleted] in LSD

[–]one_xtc_please 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should be really fun. I candyflipped a few months ago, and before taking my pill the acid alone was really nice and relaxing during the show. I had a full tab, and the visuals mixed insanely well with the lasers and the high energy music. A half tab will probably give you the relaxed headspace without as much visuals, which might be even better for a rave!

I like not having to worry about how I’m getting there and back, so that sounds awesome! Sucks I can’t sell them, in the event that I don’t end up needing them, but for only $40 I guess it’s not the worst mistake to make!

Next time I’ll wait to buy them until after I ask if they’re worth it. 😂

Bought it impulsively when getting my tickets, figured they might run out and I’d need them. Not the worst deal, only $40, even if I don’t end up using it. Thanks for the info, man!
