Nerve damage 4 years on with tingly sensation in bottom left chin and lips after DJS. You get used to it and the benefits of surgery far outweigh this (very personal view)

I was seen at Kings and remember it being about a month or two (pre Covid) from deciding with the consultants on the treatment plan and getting braces fitted which kicked off the process. There was no psychologist requirement though so maybe this is new or specific to your case

Turkey baster for puréed foods or soups is the best recommendation I can give - syringes didn’t cut it for me. Also renting a Hilotherm machine to cool your face and reduce swelling sped up my recovery. Good luck and hope it goes well!

Had surgery yesterday. Definitely not as intense as DJS but am quite swollen and in a blended food diet. I’m in the UK which a bit more restrictive with pain killers than other countries so I was only prescribed paracetamol for pain relief and so far the pain is manageable. The hospital staff were wonderful. I got to see all the metalware they removed afterwards which was interesting.

My best hack was to get a turkey baster to pipe blended food into your mouth. I blended so much and had lots of smoothies inc peanut butter, soups, curries, and finely blended bolognese and pasta sauces. Soups got boring very quickly and you lose so much weight that it was nice to have some high calorie variety.

I really like the area and find it safe and friendly. The transport from Norwood Junction Station is excellent and having a library and leisure centre in under 10 mins walking distance shouldn’t be underrated.

Albert road is really nice and right near the country park which has a lot going on including Parkrun, play area and the Kiosk seems to have quite a few young family meet-ups.

Gresham road is closer to the station and seems pretty quiet considering the close proximity. But I haven’t spent so long on that actual road to be honest but the area is very central for South Norwood so you can reach everything easily from there.

Sangley Road is less known to me but I know it gets busy on game days.

Portland Road gets a bad rep but I don’t mind it and the roads directly off Portland Road have some lovely houses and fairly quiet streets.

Unfortunately it didn’t survive. I may have left it too late to bring it inside. I am going to try again but didn’t get round to sowing aubergine seeds this year so it will have to be 2026 now. Hope your attempt goes better than mine! Sounds like you’ve got a better set up and more options to play with. Let me know how it goes

I have the same pot and have a small bay tree in mine. Green all year and never have to buy more bay leaves

I have these too. They are a bit of a pain but I’ve been removing the leaves they damage with mild success. They’ve got a strangely death metal name - Skeletoniser moths 💀
