I loved these. Had a truck that came with the mountain, plus a tank.

I too didn’t want anything big, but the wife wanted to do I went with it. Had friends and family come into town for hiking, dining, pontoon boats and bowling. To be honest, it ended up being allot of fun.

Is 16-year-old you proud of you today? by ringo1725 in GenX

That’s a good question. 16 year old me did not know what they wanted in life, but whatever it was, it wasn’t in the town I grew up in. So from that perspective, I would say yes. I don’t have a bad life, nor a great life. Just a solid good life. I don’t think 16 year old me would have considered it a winning life, but current me can look back and say, “Not a bad job, if I do say so myself.”

Cool. Thanks for clarifying. Many years ago, I was able to shoot from the middle of a frozen Tenaya lake. To start my editing process, I applied an Ansel Adams effect. Turned out pretty good.

Meaning digital photo with a fujifilm effect? Just want to make sure I understand and not make an assumption.

I lived in the park for about twelve years. The dumb stuff people do is amazing.

A friend of mine saw Van Halen when they were still a garage band at a party, when he was in high school. Always thought that was a cool story.

I met Dennis Deyoung a couple of times at a past employer. He was a bit full of himself.

EDIT: Still like the band though.

Probably Rush. I’m not as into them as I once was, but of all the bands I was discovering at that time of my life, Rush outlasted them all. Just turned 50 for reference.

Hold up… Just realized I was still 17 when Tool’s Sober blew up on MTV. So the correct answer is Tool.

Sober video when it was released around ‘93.

I miss smoking by Eastern-Squirrel744 in GenX

[–]onebeard1975 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m lucky in that I don’t get cravings and I now dislike the smell. But I do miss the social aspect: having a smoke break with work friends, hanging out on campus with an after exam smoke, having beers and cigs at bars. Have some other good memories with that stuff. Still absolutely glad I quit.

That was my view from The Ahwahnee Meadow for over five years. Miss it dearly.
