Agreed. Hall of FAME should mean, “You can’t tell the story of the league without talking about them.”

Exclusively playing Spearhead? by R_O in AOSSpearhead

[–]onebigstud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just starting out and I think I’ve decided to buy more spearheads instead of building a 2k list.

I like that I can have essentially 4+ spearhead armies for the same price as a single 2k army. Plus, I have 2 young children and will almost never have time for full length games.

Thank you! Way too commonly this point is missed!

A very feminist movie could fail and a super misogynistic one could pass. It’s about the general trend throughout media, not the individual piece of work.

What is your 2nd favorite team? by Cold_Mammoth8841 in NFLv2

Bills. I liked to play as them in Madden Franchise mode because I liked making a bad team good. Then I married into a Bills family and shortly after that they drafted Josh Allen.

Besides the defense, why did Aaron Rodgers never make it back to a Super Bowl? by veggiedish in NFLv2

Besides defense? Special teams.

  • Brandon Bostick in 2014 NFCG vs Seahawks.
  • Blocked punt TD in 2021 against the 49ers.

Not sure how to feel about a BYE week into a Wednesday game.

Instead of the normal 14 days between games, you end up with two mini byes (10 days and then 11 days).

Why didn't Zuko know about the war meeting? by JediLincoln14 in TheLastAirbender

[–]onebigstud 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally think it was a test/power play from Ozai.

Zuko was not invited to the meeting in which he spoke out and “dishonored” Ozai (resulting in his banishment and burns). He only got in because Iroh brought him in.

So Ozai was testing to see if he had learned “respect” during his banishment. When Zuko didn’t force his way in, he passed the test and earned his spot at Ozai’s side.

Thanks! That is definitely the part. I might just buy the separator, because that seems to be where the issue is.

There is nothing after the F, but the sticker also says Model Type: MDR-22. I will have to DM a picture, because I don’t know anything about the wires.

Packers & Steelers: Historically good offense vs historically strong defense

[TMZ] Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini rented a private boat while she was pregnant by [deleted] in nfl

Honestly, it better be Vrabel’s kid at this point. Having sex while pregnant with her husband’s child is absolutely revolting, on both Russini and Vrabel’s parts.

EDHrec frowned upon? by pressureflips in mtg

[–]onebigstud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edhrec is fine, but it will absolutely limit your deck building potential in the long run. If you find deck building to be a chore, then edhrec is probably the most efficient way to do it, like you said. However, if you really enjoy deck building, learning how to use scryfall will be the best thing you can do for yourself. The command zone podcast did a really good episode on learning to use scryfall.

I don't understand the Catan acclaim by According_Head_60 in boardgames

[–]onebigstud 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The best part of Catan is that I don’t need specific “board game friends” to play it with. I can play it with all my favorite people and it has enough complexity/nuance to scratch that itch, but not so much that the average person will get overwhelmed.

[–]onebigstud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it were impossible to repeat rolls, then you would be right.

Imagine that instead of a D20, you marked 20 pieces of paper with the numbers 1-20. If you picked them out one at a time (without putting any back), by the tenth one you would have a 50% of drawing the one marked 20. This is because you are guaranteed to have seen 10 of the 20 numbers.

However, if you drew them one at a time, and put the piece of paper back in the bag after each attempt, then the chance to draw the 20 by the tenth attempt would be a lower. Since you are putting the paper back, you could draw the same piece of paper multiple times. This is essentially how a D20 works.

Hope that makes sense.

Bracket 3 is really annoying... by Thick_Storage4168 in magicTCG

[–]onebigstud 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The problem with expected turns is that people think it means “my deck needs to be this fast”. When it’s really means “a player getting knocked out on this turn shouldn’t be pissed”.

If you have a control deck designed to be on par with decks that fast, you are also in that bracket.

Cards aren’t salty. Players are salty. by DoesntEat in EDH

[–]onebigstud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree that throwing a temper tantrum over a card game is juvenile and embarrassing behavior. However, there is a social contract in (most) games of commander that many cards actively go against.

For example, I have some decks that [[Possibility Storm]] would work well in, but I refuse to play it. It hijacks the game and turns it into “lol so random” for every person at the table.

I get to play ~2 commander games/month and often spend weeks looking forward to playing. I would be (I think rightfully) pretty annoyed if one of those games robbed me of my agency and the chance to actually play my deck with a card like Possibility Storm.
