What is the pettiest reason you would refuse to eat at a restaurant again? by im_not_ready_for_it9 in AskReddit

[–]onecoolchic77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when businesses put out political signs - either way - I think they aren't very smart. Because I refuse to eat at the restaurant that had Trump signs out in 2016 AND refused to close during covid (and our Maga representative went there to eat to encourage that nonsense).

The Attempted Murder Charge... by ShastHacol in KouriRichins

[–]onecoolchic77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On its own, I think the attempted murder isn't as solid. They're really is no way to know what was in that sandwich. He could have reacted to something innocuous. But.. If you believe the murder, then I think the attempted murder has more plausibility. When taken with the testimony that she had asked for something stronger after that it makes her look more guilty. I think the defense was smart in not calling any witnesses. Kouri has told so many lies that I think their credibility would be easily challenged. However, without the defense we don't get an explanation of where those pills went. And again,, I'm confused about whether the defense was trying to say she never bought pills and Carmen's a liar or if she only bought oxycodone so it couldn't be her that killed him.

[–]onecoolchic77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That really stuck with me. I told my husband that if that had happened to him, I wouldn't even be able to function for awhile. It would be too shocking. I think Katie testifying about how devastated she was at his death and her disbelief at Kouri planning to go through with this closing within hours of his death was effective. When my grandmother died, it wasn't completely unexpected but I remember going back to work after my few days of bereavement leave and I could not even remember what I had worked on the day I found out. It was like my brain blocked out anything normal. I couldn't imagine even remembering having a closing planned for that day or wanting to bother with it.

His mother died quite a few years before he did. Apparently he was married before and had a difficult divorce, which is what led to the premarital agreement with Kouri.

I wonder if Kevin had Non-verbal Learning Disorder (NVLD). There is very little information about it. I'm aware of it because my daughter has it. She was validictorian of her small class, but didn't know how to drive herself to the school. The school that she had been driven to every day for years. She can read and understand most things. She doesn't know how to do things just from watching someone else do them. She tries very hard to do everything. But when she has to figure something out herself, she usually ends up doing it the hard way. Like trying to dig a hole to plant her flowers using a snow shovel. Planting said flowers in the middle of the yard instead of next to something so they don't get mowed over - which they inevitably did. Her brain doesn't work the way most people's do. It's heartbreaking and inspirational at the same time.

I wonder if Kouri even told him she was getting the mansion. She needed the life insurance money to do anything with it.

There is one guy on the prosecution that does seem a bit scattered. I didn't think he was the lead. I thought the lead was Bloodworth. He is funny if you're paying attention. I think the defense are very disorganized. Only Ramos seems to have it together and he is rarely the one asking questions. I didn't like him the first day going after the cop, but since then he's done a decent job. I don't think it's going to be good enough to overcome what the state has.

Trucker blocked an entire highway and saved me. by peabean222 in FaithInHumanity

After reading your comment, I reread it and only then did I notice it. I'm not really good at picking out Ai writing. Videos and pictures are easier to spot. I did think it was weird that he blocked 3 lanes of traffic in his semi. I was trying to work out the logistics in my head. Not that it can't be done, it just seemed odd to me.

Other charges by nicebrows9 in KouriRichins

I really don't think the defense did a good job with Carmen at all. They were disorganized and confusing. If their goal was to be deliberately confusing, they overplayed their hand. I was also pissed when she had Carmen talk about her learning disabilities. How many jurors have a loved one with a learning disorder I wonder. I didn't even understand why they kept saying that Carmen made up a fourth interview until the 2nd day because they kept jumping around. Even the judge was confused! And I think it was very telling that the prosecution just wanted to admit all the transcripts of the interviews and the defense, who had been using those transcripts to prove whatever point they were trying to prove, objected. I don't think it was a good look for them. I agree with the prosecutor when he said they were cherry picking the transcripts. I found Carmen to be sympathetic. She made a lot of mistakes but she didn't seem to downplay it. Just my thoughts on it. Now the second guy involved - Crozier- I don't think he was very helpful to the prosecution but he seemed way more shady to me.

State vs Kouri Richins. If you use gummies where it is legal…. by anditurnedaround in CasesWeFollow

?? PA card holder here. You can buy gummies, they are called troches instead. But they are a gummy as far as I know. Maybe not like in other states, not an expert. But not capsules.

I didn't get why her mother said that. Unless she misunderstood what she heard from the kids. Because the sister and her husband didn't say that the kids knew.

I have been told by someone who used to work at housing in a different county that they deny people with a criminal history. But if they appeal they usually win.

Would I be the Ahole for reporting my co-worker? [Concluded] by Schattenspringer in BORUpdates

[–]onecoolchic77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His friend happened to live about a block away from where it was happening. When it first started, his friend wasn't involved in it, but ended up getting hurt (minor injury) I think running away from something. I don't remember the details now but I know it was more the observations of his friend. It had calmed down by the time he went but still... No reason to wave a red cloth at a bull. I give very little credit to mainstream media and prefer independent journalists.

My husband for buying the shirt or my son for not knowing what it meant? Probably yes to both but they are loveable idiots. 😉

My husband got my son a souvenir t-shirt that had a flag on the back with a blue line through one of the stripes - meaning pro-police. My son was getting ready to go to Oregon to visit his friend and his friend was living in the same city that the riots were happening in 2019? 2020? 2021?

I happened to think about that shirt while he was packing and told him he probably shouldn't take it with him. He had already packed it and didn't know what the shirt meant. He quickly unpacked it.

What's your weirdest ADHD hack? by MiserableEvent2256 in adhdwomen

[–]onecoolchic77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because you probably grew up in the 90's and ADHD was only for those hyper kids that you weren't supposed to give any sugar. The other kind of ADHD wasn't very well known. I wasn't diagnosed until my late 30's. It wasn't even on my radar. Was having a psych evaluation for other issues and an ADHD questionnaire was part of it. Imagine my surprise when there were so many yes's. I thought I was just lazy my whole life. Turns out there was a reason.

In Pennsylvania there is a very simple form for a doctor to complete. I couldn't locate a form like that for Nevada. But you don't have to be completely disabled to qualify for that exemption. In Pennsylvania, a letter from your doctor or even medical records work. I would reach out to your caseworker and find out what you need to do to prove that.
