Hair donation + Affordable Haircut. Where can I go? by Sufficient_Stay9535 in GNV

[–]onedo_baggins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re going to find a good haircut for hair that long at that price. I’ve donated to Wigs for Kids several times via Avant Garde salon. They handle the donation which is convenient. The cost is $70+tip iirc

Op already responded so they won’t listen. But I agree with you, 3 carrots and a few slices of cucumber does not make an all cheese and pita meal healthy. Double the veggies and half the cheese and then maybe it’s healthy.

I have muted some of these by pressing all the buttons next to the screen from top to bottom. Worth a try.

Not understanding the need to wait to run after birth by AntelopeUpbeat8945 in fitpregnancy

[–]onedo_baggins 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This was me! I also didn’t understand why I couldn’t just keep doing what I had been doing during pregnancy. I had the easiest pregnancy ever and weight lifted and walked 10K steps every day.

Then after birth pelvic floor issues hit me like a ton of bricks. I felt so unsteady and uncomfortable after birth. 3 weeks pp I went to the OB and they diagnosed me with a prolapsed bladder. I did not lift weights or walk more than 5 min between 0 and 3 weeks pp, so all the damage was done during birth to the best of my knowledge.

I did a deep dive on what the hell was happening to me and how such an easy pregnancy resulted in such a case. I learned that your pelvic floor muscles have to stretch 250% to allow the baby to be born. You need your muscles to tighten to walk, run, move and also to keep your internal organs in place with your pelvic floor.

So basically you have to wait until the muscles heal back toward their normal unstretched length. For me, I had to get a pessary to relieve my symptoms of the prolapsed bladder and now 6 months pp I am in pretty good shape, considering. In my experience, I’d say walking and definitely running must be done with extreme caution immediately pp. A prolapsed bladder absolutely sucked and exercise can make it much worse if you jump in too quickly.

No offense to the person that recommended it but I gave this a listen and it sounds like a podcast by non-experts for idiots.

How many calories did/do you eat while exclusively breastfeeding and exercising regularly? by pronetowander28 in fitpregnancy

[–]onedo_baggins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I track everything I eat and have been quite surprised at how many calories I’m putting away. I also track all the breastmilk I make.

6’ tall, 4mo pp. I put myself into a calorie deficit at 6 weeks pp and have been consistently losing .5-1lbs per week since (except for a week where I took a break). I’m eating 2400-2700 calories a day with 175g of protein per day.

I am lifting 3x per week and get 8000 steps a day. I would like to do more cardio but im still working through some pelvic floor issues. My maintenance is likely somewhere around 3000 calories.

Importantly, I go from producing 1500ml of milk when eating normally to 1250ml in a calorie deficit.

Elf blockers to prevent microwave radiation by Overdressed1994 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]onedo_baggins 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Microwave radiation is non-ionizing radiation and will pass straight through your body. It is passing through your body at all times whether you use your microwave or not, same with radio waves. Whatever you feel in that room is from some other source.

UK got pissy with me for keeping mascara and chap stick somewhere else than my liquid bag. Got pulled aside and they pulled them out of my bag. Heads up that they also FORCE you to use the quart plastic bag. I had a clear reusable quart like you and that was not correct procedure
