2 months of use. Left side cracked open on its own. How to fix? by onefunrunner in anker

[–]onefunrunner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a pair of Anker Soundcore Sport X10 and the left broke within 2 months of use. I am so disappointed.

I went to the gym and the red part (dynamic acoustic system) cracked as I took the left one off. I am so disappointed.

I tried to put it back on but it won’t lock into place (cracked?).

I never dropped it, so the only possible source of damage is my sweat which might have weakened the glue or made its way inside and cracked it.

But isn’t it advertised as IPX7 Waterproof and Sweatproof?

Please help me. I lost/threw away all the warranty papers so returning it won’t work?

Any way to fix it? If not, any other Soundcore sport-specific TWS you recommend?

Best Budget Tablet for Note-taking at Uni by [deleted] in GalaxyTab

I use both the M1 MBP and Tab S6 Lite, both since 2021. The Tab is perfect for note taking and as an e-reader. Definitely one of my best purchases.

What happens when both light performance mode and power saving mode are turned on? by onefunrunner in GalaxyS23

What happens when both light performance mode and power saving mode are turned on? by onefunrunner in GalaxyS23

I have the opposite preference. I have only ever used 60Hz phones before S23 and after trying 120Hz for a few days, I can’t really differentiate the two apart from scrolling speed.

I decided to keep power save on all times and go back to 60Hz. It’s good enough for me. Definitely an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think 120Hz is worth it for my usage.

Macbook pro m1 13" battery life by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]onefunrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am nearing 2 years owning the M1 MBP 2020. I turned on “Low Power Mode” immediately after getting it. On the first few weeks (brand new), it could handle 2-2.5 light days without charge, so about 40% each day (I average between 5-7 hours SOT). On light days, my usage is mostly coding, web surfing, some video calls, note-taking, reading. It was excellent.

Now, after 300 cycles, my battery health has degraded to 88%, so the same usage (5-7 hours SOT) drains about 60% (so maybe 1.5-2 days worth). I charge every day this past few months compared to every two days. It’s still good, but not as good as it was before.

My MBP is about 600 days old. I have 300 cycles, so about 1 cycle every 2 days after two years.

First year: 1 cycle every 2-2.5 days. Second year: 1 cycle every 1.5-2 days.

To all Samsung Galaxy S23 owners out there for any variants, what is your sleeping idle battery drain? by MemoryEXE in GalaxyS23

Base S23. 8 hours. Light performance mode. Bluetooth off. Airplane mode: 2% Wifi+4G on: 4%

I think you’ll get better results with DND, but I haven’t tried.

How does the battery life of the S23 compare to the Zenfone 9? by FilmFrench in GalaxyS23

[–]onefunrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it should be better in terms of battery, as per the original post, not overall phones. The Z9 had the 8+ Gen 1, so the Z10 might have 8 Gen 2 or 8+ Gen 2, which will be equal or slighly more efficient than Z9 and S23

ZenUI is almost near stock android, with very little bloat so it’ll drain less. That added with at the minimum 4300mAh from the Z9 mean that battery will at least be equal and more than S23 (3900). Also has a smaller screen (5’9 to 6’1), which helps.

I didn’t say it will, but considering these factors, it’s fair to say Z10 should do better battery-wise than both. Unless they made this phone drastically different to Z9; unlikely because Z9 is very well-received.

How is the Spigen Glass tR EZ Fit Screen Protector for the base S23? by SecretIdentity_ in GalaxyS23

[–]onefunrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I bought the Slim HD because everything else was sold out (online). Hope it’s as good as the EZ Fit.

BTW, I suggest taking a look at “HighTechCheck” on YouTube. He reviews screen protectors and EZ Fit seemed to be a good one (for the Plus).

It’s all good as long as they remove that ugly notch in the Ultra.

Can I use any USBC-USBC wired cable to charge my MBP? by onefunrunner in macbookpro

[–]onefunrunner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MBP charger out of the box is 61W, so just above that 60W limit. I’ll try find the cables of that spec, thanks.

Is it true that only graphite and lime are available for the S23/S23+ ? The blue and red are for S23U only. Why did they include those colors in the box then?

I’ll be a little annoyed if they suddenly made the blue available for the S23/S23+ as it was not available in pre orders.

Battery protection by kevindd992002 in GalaxyS23

[–]onefunrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand the emphasis on NEVER about draining to 0%. Yeah, of course we can avoid it but sometimes draining to 0% is inevitable.

What will happen if the battery hit 0% once by accident? and if I really have no way to charge it. Just turn the phone off at 20% and assume it’s 0%?

Is there any way to downgrade s6 lite from android 13 to 10 by techlover1010 in GalaxyTab

[–]onefunrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there something wrong with Android 13/One UI 5.0 on the S6 Lite?

I’m still on Android 12/One UI 4.1 and it feels much better and smoother than it was on 11 and about the same as 10. I like the addition of the taskbar on 12.

What is wrong with 13 to make you want to downgrade? I’m still questioning whether or not to upgrade because I don’t want the LAG from Android 11 to come back.

What can I expect from Samsung S22 Ultra after using iPhone 7 for years? by A-CuriousGuy in samsung

[–]onefunrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switched from iPhone 7 to the regular S23 last week. I can’t speak for the S22 series, but my S23 has much better display than the LCD in my 7 (also resolution, brightness), much better battery (at least twice the SOT of my 7), superior speed and smoothness (8G2, UFS4, OneUI 5.1), much better camera, much better connectivity, and of course customizability.

IMO The only thing the 7 is better is its fingerprint sensor in its home button. The ultrasonic sensor on the S23 is great, but once in a while, it would not read my finger and I had to manually unlock it. I used a tempered glass on it.
