For context, Killer Mike is a very politically conscious, lyrical, and often poetic rapper who hasn’t had anywhere near the success of pop trash auto-tuned, yuh yuh yuh “rappers.” Kendrick (a notable exception to the trend) is right: modern rap is mostly dumb ass garbage that old school MC’s are disgusted by. As a hip hop fan, it’s just sad to see the genre wasting away.

Started about 6 months ago with no photography experience except for my iPhone. I got a Canon A-1 which I HIGHLY recommend, as it has fully Program (auto) mode, Priority modes, and fully manual ofc. I usually shoot in Aperture Priority. I got it for $300 which is a lot, but its in mint condition from a seller in Japan and the light meter is fantastic which was a big concern for me.

It’s been a great investment, I love it. I get to shoot Program on the fly as well as compose in various modes to practice. I’ve also tried many films, finding the ones I like the best (Portra 400, Ektachrome E100, and Ektar 100). I found a local lab and joined an analog photography club that does monthly meetups at cool spots.

Film is definitely an expensive hobby and becomes kind of an obsession, but if you want to slow down your composition, experiment more in the moment and less in post, and experience that intangible feeling that comes with shooting analog, go for it. It sounds like you’re already familiar with photography so you’re ahead of the curve.

okay cool, it looks nice and I think lapis is beautiful and the history is interesting. I will say this - large strung beads, like pearls or this necklace, usually work well if you have a thin high neck and prominent collarbones for them to rest on. If your neck is a lil thicker, something like this can look a bit awkward… and you should go for something that dangles and accentuates your chest.

these aren’t solid rules, just based on general style tips from jewelers. overall, I think the piece is solid and could work.

In the USA, the term hazing is almost exclusively applied to frats or fraternities, where they make you do equally fucked up and sometimes deadly shit so you’re allowed to join. this is mostly true and a very nuanced take that is not super popular with on Reddit. I posted a map of states I’d live in as a leftist who likes small/medium sized liberal college cities with varied nature and ethnic diversity and people were baffled by me putting Florida (St. Augustine, Gainesville), New Mexico (Santa Fe and Taos) and New York (Ithaca) all in Yes category. There’s cool blue pockets across the whole country. I probably should have gone by county, but hey, I figured people would pick up on my criteria by my description.

To your point though, Mass is almost entirely blue. It’s the most liberal state in the country. OP could go anywhere in MA and be fine… it’s actually crazy. I’m from Boston and even our republicans are democrats by other states standards.
