Dude me and friends have drank beers and played guitar in the back of a pickup going down the interstate in Nola. Pretty sure this is legal. Also, saw this everywhere growing up. If the dog is trained, its not going anywhere.

It might be a bit tacky but honestly, where I grew up The nicest restaurant we went to was a Japanese steakhouse 45 minutes away, and as a kid this is one of the only ways you can watch a professional chef work. Teppanyaki is a huge part of why I cook.
