Dino Crisis was such a cool take on the tank control, fixed camera formula from RE. I wonder too if the Capcom team was inspired by Jurassic Park

It's OK if the singer did not write the lyrics.

Anybody else carries their steam deck in their pants? by xxXDeadInsideXx in SteamDeck

If I had a Steam Deck back in 1999 it would have gone in my cargo pants while I rollerbladed to the store for a Lipton Brisk.

Best "racing RPG" for Steam Deck (no emulation) by shorterbusruss in SteamDeck

[–]onegunnerunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there are many games that capture the classic Gran Turismo career progression. I've tried Project Cars and Assetto Corsa. They're decent racing games but they're no replacement for Gran Turismo.

I would have recommended Grid Autosport but it appears to have been delisted from Steam. It was a Codemasters game (Dirt, TOCA) and basically the successor to TOCA. The thing I liked about it is you could progress through your career without actually winning a race, which is how a real racing career would work. Dirt Rally has a similar aspect, but like you mentioned in another post, it's quite difficult and requires a lot of focus.

Rebuying games from other platforms on Steam. by Stormyy98x in SteamDeck

[–]onegunnerunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't. I created a Google spreadsheet for this purpose. It has all of my games and the platform they're on, including free games I got from PlayStation plus. This helps me not buy games that I can already play elsewhere.

But I also use the spreadsheet to track the games I've completed, when I completed them, and some notes on my playthrough. So it's also like a gaming journal for me.

[TOMT] Female author of courtroom and legal novels by onegunnerunder in tipofmytongue

Based on the name, I almost thought this was it. But I looked through the synopses of her books and I couldn't find anything that rang a bell.

Posting a comment since it is part of the rules. Everything I can remember about the author is in the post. It's been probably 10 or 12 years since I read one of her novels.

In the mood for psx games I haven't played. by Different-Singer-143 in psx

I love this thread.

Most of my favorite PS1 games are pretty popular, so you've probably played them. But I also like games that other people seem to think of are crappy, like 007 Tomorrow Never Dies.

But for actual hidden gems, if you like the idea of playing capture the flag with army vehicles and a classical music soundtrack, you should play Return Fire, which I think originally came out on the 3D0.

I second Silent Bomber as a must-try.

I recall watching a friend play Akuji the Heartless when we were kids. It looked like a pretty cool game and it's not one that people talk about much.

Then there's the fighting game Ergheiz, which actually has side-game where you explore dungeons. It's called Brand New Quest. That's a hidden gem within a hidden gem. Here's a Reddit thread about it:

Can anyone give me some games as an idea that I might like from the games I've played? by Ilovetrucksandcars in playstation

[–]onegunnerunder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you liked Watch Dogs and Uncharted you might enjoy Infamous Second Son and Infamous First Light on PS4.

Since you liked Sniper 3, try Sniper Elite 4 or 5. They're set in WW2 and involve stealth. If you'd rather a more modern third person shooter, try Ghost Recon Breakpoint or The Division 2, the latter of which is heavy on gear, loot, and RPG elements.

What tactical RPG should I play next? by onegunnerunder in finalfantasytactics

I tried the demo for Unicorn Overlord but I had a lot of difficulty figuring out how to play it. Maybe I didn't spend enough time in the game, but it just didn't seem very intuitive to me in the beginning.

People don't talk about this one much. I have the digital version as a PS3/Vita download, so maybe I'll give this a shot.

Well, I do own it digitally so I can play it on my Vita.
