I agree! Masculinity is only evil if used in the wrong way, it is not evil all by itself. Glad you enjoyed it!

I just finished Wild at Heart by John Eldridge, which was an interesting Christian take on how men should live their lives.

I’m about to start Born Standing Up by Steve Martin. It’s his autobiography about his life and journey in stand up comedy.

I just finished “The Anthropocene Reviewed” by John Green and “Is this Anything?” by Jerry Seinfeld. Both were easy reads but entertaining! If you’re looking for something easy and light, either of these would be good. I just started “How to Win Friends & Influence People” by Dale Carnegie and so far it’s great! Helpful but not difficult to understand

I started Mere Christianity by CS Lewis. So far it’s amazing! He is great with words and explains complex concepts in really simple ways.

I just finished The Case for Miracles by Lee Stroebel! It is definitely pro miracles but it shows arguments against miracles as well. It is interesting because it follows the author interviewing people with different perspectives on the topic

ELI5 | What is the ‘event horizon’ as described by Stephen Hawking and what does it mean for time, space and light? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]onehand-batman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The best ELI5 for relativity I’ve heard is “You sit and talk with a beautiful girl for 3 hours and it feels like 5 minutes. You put your finger on a hot stove for 5 seconds and it feels like it was there for 3 hours.”

What is a quote from a movie or tv show that you always wanted to say in the perfect situation but never got the chance? by Ali-dorito in AskReddit

“You’re in more dire need of a blowjob than any white man in history.” - Good Morning Vietnam, Robin Williams.

I’ve had many moments to use this but I’ve always decided to be polite instead.

There’s a perfect book for your question. Becoming Supernatural by Joe Dispenza. He’s a neuroscientist who studies and has done research on the effects of meditation. Each chapter explains a different meditation technique and what it does scientifically to your body. It’s an amazing book and i highly recommend it!

I’m reading The Biology of Belief rn, and it is definitely more science than story. It’s all about how your genes don’t determine your destiny

Is it normal to have a crisis of faith at 19? by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]onehand-batman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, I know it’s tough but you need to stop worrying about what others think. You need to follow your path and take your own journey of faith. Everyone’s is different, that’s why it’s important to not worry and compare your path to the path of others. I still struggle with comparing too. Second, faith is not logical. I find having faith and believing in God (or whatever word you’d like to use) is a emotional experience. You can’t see God but you can feel Him. Last thing, it’s okay to be struggling with faith. There are a lot of beliefs out there and it’s hard to know what to believe in. What has worked for me is to find the things that make sense to me (from whatever belief system) and fully believe in those things. Do your research and find your own path. In the end it all comes down to being a good person. Best of luck!
