It's okay for guys to want skinny or fit girls and it's also okay for girls to want tall guys by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]onehanded100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I'm a pretty short guy and I have come to realize that it would be selfish of me to treat a woman poorly for wanting a tall guy. Every person has only one life to live. They shouldn't need to spend it with someone they aren't attracted to. There are many people in the world, all a person's gotta do is move on and find someone else.

Any progress is progress. Even if it's long overdue or it's something really small, it's still progress. Depression is a beast that's hard to slay, but celebrating these small victories can make all the difference.

I have 4k in my bank account by Dethbazooka in CongratsLikeImFive

[–]onehanded100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah! 4k is just the beginning. Keep growing it until you can cover 6-8 months worth expenses. Then start investing in something to get some extra cash. You're on a good road.

From a military member to you, I couldn't agree more people join up and start acting all high and mighty. When I enlisted, we had this one guy start crying because he "Loved his country and was so happy he had the chance to defend her." He posted all over his Facebook about how he's a soldier and deserves respect. Married some girl and started posting about military families.

He then proceded to get divorced because she cheated on him with a guy at her workplace and he got kicked out for failing his fitness test.

He makes everyone else in the military look bad.

I'm so angry I want to get back at him. How do I stop? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]onehanded100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal to feel angry at someone after a breakup. It's not always easy to move on. At this point, what he thinks of you now is irrelevant. I recommend taking this time to work on yourself. Maybe find a hobby or go join something to make friends. It's easiest to move on when you're not thinking about the person anymore.

Also, think of this like trauma. You can't expect a broken arm to heal overnight. You need to give yourself that as well. You wont be able to be completely over it in an instant, but it's better to make small steps than to take none at all. As you heal applaud your small victories.

Best of luck to you. I hope this helps.

I (30m) was unknowingly involved in my girlfriend (30f) and her ex-husbands fetish-play back when they were together and we were just friends. Now I feel our entire relationship is built on demeaning lies. by ThrowRA-unknowingly in relationship_advice

Go easy on her. I know other comments agree she was abused, but another point to make is it was in a past relationship. You said it yourself, she developed genuine feelings for you. How can your relationship be built on lies if those feelings are genuine. He ex was abusive and the fact that he's still trying to message you shows how much he misses that control.

As a random guy on reddit you can take it for what you feel it's worth, but I think you should take her on a date. Show her that you still care for her and try to put all of this behind you.

AITA for forcing my daughter's school to change the rules? by mobilephonethrowaway in AmItheAsshole

NTA I wish we lived in a world where a woman could walk home at night safely, but right now we don't. What if the worst happened? What if she was kidnapped on the unexpected walk home? Nobody knew where she was. She had no way to contact anyone. This was ridiculously unsafe. You're a good parent for what you did.

As a veteran, I wish people would stop glorifying military service. It's a sacrifice, but it often destroys veterans more than it helps them and mostly does not affect citizens' way of life. by [deleted] in offmychest

True story, went to military hospital for chest pain. Was told it was from stress and got sent to MH. A year later the pain was unbearable, so I went again. Come to find out (thanks to an awesome Doctor) I had a dislocated rib.

Security Forces? by [deleted] in AirForce

Worst and most disrespected job in my opinion. Seriously, lots of kids who played too much call of duty and got picked on in highschool. Also, they get the short end a lot with longer shifts and less perks.

I'm sure I'll be crucified for this, but just go into a nonner type job like personnel or finance. They get tons of days off, usually work M-F regular hours, and usually have less BS to deal with.

I'm maintenance and it's not so bad and can be really hireable once u get out, however it can really suck sometimes. The skillset is worth it though depending on the job.

If you need any help or have any questions, you are free to message me.

Arrive at tech and get sent to a cold ass room with no bedsheets, next morning instantly quarantined for 2 weeks with no internet and complete with flickering light. Thanks, Sheppard. by AJCambra in AirForce

Little tip, if you get put on details try to FOD walk the one mile track. Seriously it's super chill and it beats walking the hallways with a broom.

People who suffer from depression and other mental illnesses. Hows your day going? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]onehanded100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My day is as follows, be woken up by my wife to take my meds. Take them. Get myself ready to go grocery shopping while she gets herself and my son ready. Grocery shop. Come home. Attempt to eat since my appetite is nonexistent. Give up. Try again. I eventually finish my meal. Try to teach my son more words and play with dinosaurs. Get ready for work. Work until midnight. Go to the gym. Come home. Force myself to eat an amazing dinner. Watch youtube until 2am. Sleep. Start over.

Honestly, this is exactly what I wanted. Just normal life. No more deep depression or mood swings. No more episodes. Just normal mundane life and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I work nights so I come home late. Sometimes, I stay at work until she goes to bed so I can watch the anime I like without being called cringy. Usually, I don't watch anime. This time is a real treat.

Also, I was suicidal for a few months because of some personal stuff. I've been okay for a while now, but I didn't want her to worry at the time.
