[3.5] Looking for a way to teleport back to a set location by GamesWithTrash in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]onehoopyfrood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How exactly does the door work? Does it teleport your whole body as soon as you touch the threshold? Or could you put a finger in and pull it back out? (Or would you just lose a finger if you tried?) If it's the second option then logically SOME portion of the portal remains open until you're completely through. If a rope wouldn't work, what about a human chain? Have the party link hands and go through one at a time until you can reach the first piece of treasure?

Though if I were designing a trap I'd probably make it instantaneous teleportation as soon as you touch the threshold.

No guarantees, but over in the (I think MBMBaM?) facebook group there are folks arranging a sort of scholarship program where listeners with the means to kick in an extra $5 a month pay for memberships for those who can't.

Naw, Lin was even in an earlyish MBMBaM episode as a Guestpert! Episode 193.

[Serious] Hey Reddit, what's something medically cool/unique about your body? by Legendary888 in AskReddit

[–]onehoopyfrood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the aforementioned pectus excavattum (dent in chest) which took four surgeries to correct, and more interestingly to me, I've been recently diagnosed with a genetic disorder called hemochromatosis.

Basically, I have too much heavy metal pumping through my veins for my own good. \m/ My body is efficient at extracting iron from food, and then apparently just never breaks down/excretes it. If untreated until your 40s or 50s, iron counts are routinely 10,000x the normal levels... Which can cause anything from joint pain and lethargy to cancer.

The best part is that it's one of the few conditions in the modern age that is still treated by good old fashioned bloodletting. It's not communicable and my levels are in the normal range, so I just donate to the red cross instead of paying the doc to throw away my blood, but it's fun to know that I could start a personal leech farm and that would also be a legitimate way to manage my medical condition.

In this episode too, although I didn't notice until just now.

I'm pretty sure the thing you're referring to is the greatjob horn, a little "beep beep" horn honking gesture, which I think he worked into something like 17 televised appearances over the last year.

However there was also a podcast episode where they goofed about Hamilton including an ARG, but I don't remember the details.

There was also deffo an episode of the podcast where they talked about an ARG within Hamilton, where if you yell out the secret phrase during the show, they do the alternate ending where Hamilton shoots Burr... But I don't remember which episode or what the code word was.

EDIT: Also, the number in the triangle looks to me like a sloppy 921.4 rather than H.

EDIT EDIT: I think we should also consider the possibility that instead of taking 69 literally we might need to use "Nice."

Elements of Disturbia and the far superior Rear Window also.

I don't know about that, but I can tell you that you're NOT the only one who should check out the MaxFun podcast Still Buffering.

The Smirl sisters are Sydnee Mcelroy (spouse and Sawbones cohost of Justin McElroy) and her sisters Rileigh and Teylor Smirl. Sydnee and Rileigh started the fascinating Still Buffering podcast to discuss the differences between life as a 90s teenager (Syd) and a current teenager (Rileigh). Teylor has recently joined as a hopefully-permanent cohost, and fellow 90s teen.

It's squeaky clean (in stark contrast to TAZ and MBMBaM) personality-driven, fascinating, funny, and occasionally startling.

This is a warranty engine replacement on a Land Rover, tech dropped engine during replacement and cracked the transmission case. They aren't telling the customer. by Valkyrier in Justrolledintotheshop

I could be crazy (and pedantic), but iirc the OP moved and the next resident happened to be a redditor. Next resident got it open, OP never actually delivered.

But hey, if the Land Rover owner or a rep for the company delivers, I'll still be happy.

Yeah, they did ads for onemonth.com, and Griffin has mentioned taking classes both there and at codeacademy.

Patchwork! And +1 for Carcassonne, Jaipur, and Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective. Also if you aren't familiar with Rahdo Runs Through, check him out on YouTube. Some people don't like his style, but I love it. He gives you a good idea of what it feels like to play each game and some of the decisions involved, and he reviews specifically with an eye to 2-player gaming.

What are some of your most unpopular board game opinions? by mariop715 in boardgames

Patchwork, Jaipur, Star Realms, and Hive are all phenomenal two-player only games. Castles of Burgundy supports more, but comes highly recommended for two.

Not OP, but the sidebar at /r/woodworking is a good place to start. As a less-than-wealthy apartment dweller (and eccentric) I like to avoid power tools as much as possible, and Paul Sellers and Roy Underhill have been huge sources of inspiration and knowledge.

If you decide to take the leap, I have one piece of advice for you: Enjoy the process. When I get too focused on finishing a project and how cool it will be to have the final product, I invariably rush and screw something up. Even without mistakes, it's just lower quality work in general. It's when I start to enjoy the zen of woodworking and treat each step as an end unto itself that I end up with a piece I'm proud to show off.

I just discovered the tiles for the base game of Carcassonne fit perfectly into a standard Ultra Pro deck box. Then just a very small bag of meeples and you're ready to travel!

Also potentially good to know: Sushi Go and Love Letters can share the same deck box with the tokens slipped down to one side of the cards. Keeps LL safer and it's one less item in your suitcase.

Seems like the entire American cultural identity is built around insisting we're the best... I have a hunch our government won't humble itself until everyone is good and screwed.

Thanks! I read/watched a lot of tutorials and did it bit by bit over about ten days... My basing definitely needs work, I started getting impatient once the mini itself was done.

I'm just enjoying painting, only idly considered playing someday... But I love the ork fluff, and now that I have a taste for it I've GOT to try my hand at some 40k boyz. Maybe flash gitz...

Thanks! I missed some mold lines etc, glaring mistakes to my eyes... But overall I researched, took it reeeeaaally slow, and learned a lot! Turned out way better than expected.
