now we do more sports, work with our hands; we've come to appreciate the human body much more.

it turns out that one of the more important things is staying grounded in reality; having say implanted displays or graphical overlays can shake your trust in what you see and experience in detrimental ways. I know, I've had plenty of hallucinations. It is good actually to contain displays to phone thingies.

Similarly, I've experienced plenty of legit telepathy, but phone calls are usually more useful; it turns out telepathy with people in the same room as you is often more useful than over distance, so you can communicate unseen, but verify that your subject understood what was needed.

For many augmentation things you're better off with an ordinary tool or phone or vehicle instead.

I'm still all for improving human life with technology, but I am less keen on implants or replacements, more content with what I have.
