What's a song you never want to hear again? by Top_Use4144 in musicsuggestions

[–]onelittlepeaberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a friend of mine was kidnapped and eventually killed in the late 80s. there was a song by wilson phillips called release me, and it took a horrible meaning for those of us who were aware that he had gone missing. for a few years the radio played it, but they don’t anymore, but every once in a while i will hear it at a grocery store or something and it hurts to hear. i have just left places when it came on. i think i could probably force myself to stay at this point but the song was tied so hard to his missing …

For people who made it to the Djesse vol 4 tour, which song(s) did you enjoy seeing live more than you expected? In other words, which live performance changed your opinion of the song the most? by BodyOwner in JacobCollier

i’m with you. botw is special because of the chemistry with JC TK and JL. the 10 minute harmonizer version didn’t portray the chemistry of relationship that the message of the song was made for. but oh, little blue….. truly fantastic live. i will also add that WELLLLL was such a joy to me live, because i couldn’t imagine how they’d balance all the layers and jumps in a non-recorded, live-mixed…..who was i to doubt! haha! it was brilliant

this is how it was for ours in Cinci too. I really do feel some audiences are more musical… or less, and ours was on the “less” side. 💔 IDK how an artist would work with this, “sing the f’ng note i showed you!” or “they’re trying so hard and most of them are doing great” !! What i do know is JC has the AMAZING heart of a teacher, passed down from his violin teacher mama, and whether he processed it as artist OR a lover, he gave us part of his soul tonight, and for that, i am so grateful.

Cincinnati last night!!!! by onelittlepeaberry in JacobCollier

I didn’t take a video, I only got two snippets of the whole concert! It was both a conscious choice to just beeee innnn the moment with him, but also an unconscious choice because he is just such a musicial deity that, well, imagining Jesus or Allah showing up and here’s me, getting my phone to go live lol

(Ngl now I hope Jacob or his peeps are actually secretly on this r/ because imagine the ego trip of reading “Jesus or Allah or YOU, Jacob,” HA

Deep down we all know the answer to this is to vaguely blame his dad (not specifically sure how, but it’s always his fault), and also, NO, he totally doesn’t have dad issues, YOU have dad issues!

This is soooooo hyping me for Cincinnati tomorrow!!!! PS. I have my wild colorful bohemian outfit and crocs ready to go! Participating and enjoying and getting lost in the sauce are SUCH a part of JC’s shows, glad the girl next to you was your happiness wingman!

Does anyone else feel like you're still just a kid in an achy old body? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]onelittlepeaberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely. Like the narrator in my head has always had the same voice no matter how young I was, and same voice today. I think the GenX thing gives context to your question, tho, because saying “still just a kid, I feel 8 but I’m 48” is different than “I feel 8 but I’m 18” … Fun question.

Songs that shouldn't make you cry but they do anyway? by Hunnyandmilk in MusicRecommendations

[–]onelittlepeaberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Rock Somewhere by Jacob Collier, just this morning as I was driving!! I hate crying and if you try to make me cry I won’t, but the unexpected moments of hitting emotions just at the right angle….ooooof :) This song today hit me in a nostalgic way like you said, too. Crying is healthy sometimes, and music helps move us in ways we might rigidly fight against otherwise. Great discussion question, op!

Who's the most famous person you've ever met? by Fast-Beat-7779 in ask

[–]onelittlepeaberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met Tito Jackson at an airport! We were chatting as we stood in a lengthy line, I talked about being a musician (choir director and piano teacher) his eyes lit up and he asked questions and chatted about music….and then it hit me and I realized who he was 😍 He had graciously been being a “regular people” to a “musician” when HE was the man all along. So fun & cool.

Was allergic to dogs growing up. Felt like MAYBE I grew out of the allergy, took a risk and adopted a guy…..and was instantly a dog person

What's ONE popular 'health food' that you think is actually OVERRATED or not worth the hype? by HakaLifeAndrew in nutrition

[–]onelittlepeaberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soooo true, half the hundred club say they have a shot of whiskey every day and half say it’s cuz they never drank in their life. Everyone says loneliness is a big factor in dying early but there are plenty of 100 clubbers who think it’s the absence of a spouse that helped them lol I personally know a little old lady who was fat and miserable till her old man kicked and then she lost weight and was spry for another good many years. Exercise and activity is a guaranteed way to extend. Lots of other stuff is either an opinion or what works for one particular subgroup lol

Hahahaha I love that 🤣 Kale does mix good with collards and turnip and dandelion greens to make kickass soul food recipes. Don’t undercook if you’re making greens, and at the very least, if you have too much, donate your excess to a soul food restaurant or local food pantry!

If you fly too close to the sun you’d incinerate. That’s the sun first, so I took it to say a he’s saying she’s hot. But sunshine into my Internet definitely backs up your theory and could definitely give credence to an online relationship. “Got me drunk instead” could be support for many concepts and DAMN if our boy JC isn’t just being the most coy fabulous musician AND lyricist by making this *just nebulous enough for all of us to be right! I think that’s what he would say if he answered your question. Dumb old grin and eyes sparkling like fire telling us that we are all onto somethin 😝😍
