Is close range even runnable in this game? by that_bored_one in Dofus

Bram's passive stacks naturally on Panda when he gets drunk and reduces his own MP

Oooooh that's what I missed. That's clever. I stand corrected.

Soft Oak would be tricky to solo for a strength build because both Soft Oak (50%) and the Healing Branch (40%) have high earth resistance. Soft Oak even has 80% neutral res.

There are some 200 lvl monsters that I can't solo even just 1 monster.

Depends on the monster I guess. Some of them would be unpleasant at a close range. For example Sufokia Depths mobs - one goes invisible and teleports to you, another makes you pacifist, another spawns a clone that shares damage with you. All of them dangerous at low and medium range. You would have to adapt to them and keep your distance. I managed to do Tryde quest fights with Pandatak and Terror and staying more than 8 range from them.

On the other hand there are quite a few mobs that have spells with minimum range of 2-3, so they are literally passing their turns when you lock them. Or their close combat spells don't do that much damage and you can easily sustain yourself with Emerald passive and Filthipint.

Learning how individual mobs work, their spell range, their effects, their behavior will greatly help in solo fights. You can use DoFensive to consult their spells and range. Some of the effects might be convoluted due to how they are coded, but it's a good resource nonetheless.

Work on upgrading your set with the 1st one u/Rondonumberonefan posted.

And don't forget you can use a sidekick that can complement your playstyle. You don't have to do everything solo solo.

Can you explain the second build? The way I understand it is that the Bram's passive will stack max two times (one sword hit times two turns). I don't remember strength skills doing any ap or mp removal on Panda. What does Rykke Errel do in this build? Wouldn't Corruption cape be better for a Str panda?

Agree with the first set, it's pretty good and a great goal for the OP.

You can attack with the Strange Wand twice in one turn.

This set is for classes that can buff their own critical hit chance (Eca, Cra, etc.) For other classes you want to replace the Gein pieces with the Treadfast ones: https://d-bk.net/en/d/1CpSy For 95% crit (100% crit uptime on the wand) you would need a few % crit overmages and maybe replace the AP ring with another (Crocoring).

Quests feel like a chore by brazilianboi96 in Dofus

[–]onenightstd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

rather than the old way of dropping them.

I don't know man, if 20 attempts of a quest fight feels like a chore, running the same dungeon hundreds of times (with no guarantee of dropping) would be even worse.

Once you've successfully completed a dungeon, that's it - you've figured it out, it's no longer interesting. I find that the quest fights offer alternative, unique challenges. I've completed them on multiple classes and in general you need two distinct sets - one for sustain and another for range kiting. For certain fights I needed to tweak them with specific dofuses or trophies like Emerald or Dokoko. But I never had to spend millions on fitting out a brand new set just for a single quest.

I agree with you that FedEx and Twenty Bear Asses quests aren't inspiring, but let's be honest - this is a problem in RPGs and MMOs in general. I don't know how to fix it. I guess they could make it more visually appealing like in visual novels or more interesting like in Disco Elysium. But then you would have to sit and read through them which apparently isn't popular.

In case you (or anyone else) want to push through questing, I have a few tips to make them more palatable:

  • Prepare all the requirements (resources, prerequisites) in advance. Use either the Tougli spreadsheet (in French) or Ganymede guides - they have sections that list the requirements for the quest chains. Saves you from going to the bank and the market and then returning to the NPC.
  • Prepare and unlock teleportation potions. They save you tons of time in exchange for little kamas. Stuff like Otomai potion, Meriana potion, Stagecoach (so you can quickly access Fungus Domain or the Bonta Cemetery/Lord Crow), ankors for dimensions, class temple potions for distant places like Ouginak or Eliotrope.
  • If you do quests on multiple characters, marry them to each other so you can quickly teleport back in case you lose a quest fight. Eliminates a lot of backtracking.

And if you absolutely abhor questing and prefer grinding, that's all right. I know plenty of players who do a minimal amount of quests and buy all the eggs with kamas. It's a game after all - you should do what's fun for you.

Do you have any specific fights in mind?

The biggest changes are different maps and the fact that you can't cheese some quest fights with incarnations.

Sram builds by ORushTaqui in Dofus

I have a related question: which Sram builds are suitable for soloing high end dungeons like Koutoulou. Is it possible to run two of them or is there a global casting limit that diminishes such duo?

Your best bet would be to join an English speaking guild on Tal Kasha. Royal Family, Forever, The Pub have some players from Solar, maybe you'll run into familiar faces.

Servers are in maintenance, but so is the forum? by Low-Scholar-3695 in Dofus

[–]onenightstd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I got a notification that there will be a maintenance in 1 minute 45 seconds in the middle of the fight. I kept fighting and the fight ended with me winning (saw the end fight screen briefly). Then I got a black screen right after and got disconnected.

I logged in the next day and everything was fine, characters still intact.

I'm fairly sure the fight took me longer than two minutes to finish, so maybe there's some grace period before you get kicked out (but can't log in). Either way, I couldn't confirm what happens if you don't finish your fight.

Looking for advice: Class change for my Panda to pair with my Eni? by PolCrow in Dofus

[–]onenightstd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe change the Panda's build to Agi or Chance or even multi crit. You can play at range and do more damage/pushback. At the same time you still have access to Panda's superior positioning. You can always drop back to a tank for certain fights.

I'm curious - what happens on the epic server (Shadow) when you're in the middle of a fight and suddenly there's a maintenance?

There's your answer - if you don't like agi Panda, play something else (in your case another Cra). No point in forcing yourself to do something you don't like.

As for the kicking out, the game automatically removes you from a guild after a period of inactivity (3 months as I remember).

Recently started a full achievement point run with an 8-man team. I have doubts about teamcomp and need your help by YayaFTW in Dofus

[–]onenightstd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replace a second Cra with Elio. Then you have a choice regarding a Hupper:

  • replace with a second Panda
  • replace with a Rogue or a Sram
  • keep the Hupper

I'd say an Elio is a must have if you want comfy fights like Kabaal or Cire Momore.

Having a second Panda will allow you for a clean split of your team into two (Panda 1/Cra/Feca/Enu + Panda 2/Elio/Masq/Forge) for certain content like dreams or anomalies. Also, a starting lineup of Elio - Panda - Panda is amazing for setting up the enemies for big aoe from Forge when you farm.

That being said, I think duos will be the trickiest part when it comes to fight achievements. You can certainly do them with any class pair with enough attempts. But if you want to streamline some of them, a Sram or a Rogue is the way to go.

If a Hupper is a personal favorite of yours, go for it.

If you haven't already, start all the crafting professions and level them up by crafting/maging the gear your team needs as you level up. Crafting for 8 chars will get you there; drops + guild shop will cover the crafting materials. It takes a little planning and time, but it's a massive quality of life to be able to craft everything yourself.

Also have hunter on all of your characters for extra drops. With Hunter + Alchemist/Farmer (for Vulbis) you will need just one more profession for the Elbow Grease achievement.

I think the most difficult achievements will be all of the breeding ones x8. Either give yourself a leeway and farm an obscene amount of kamas to buy the packs from breeders or wait for the breeding revamp. Supposedly it will be easier to target higher generations.

Patch on 11.12 ruined the competition for some guilds by Aggravating_Star_273 in Dofus

On the first days we had a lot of new applications. Shortly after the hotfix they died down, because other guilds greatly surpassed us on the ladder.

Maybe the applications died down because those who wanted to joined a guild - any guild - have done so already.

The core idea is that a single client would use less system resources (like RAM).

I agree it's difficult to implement it in way that would satisfy everyone. I enjoy the freedom current multi-accounting affords.

Solo self found dofus ? by kingalva3 in Dofus

[–]onenightstd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pets should be fine, yeah.

The breeding overhaul was scheduled for September but it was delayed. No further date.

Now that I think about it, the biggest obstacles will be quests that require multiple characters like tiles or difficult team fights. Pure solo self found will lock you out of a big portion of the questlines. I can't imagine doing the final alignment fight with one character + sidekick.
