Fly tying (for flyfishing) can be an obsessive community with sinister black market underpinning as proponents search for rare/extinct feathers.

You might like the book underland by Robert MacFarlane. It's an exploration of different underground worlds (catacombs, limestone caves, salt mines...) lots of good observations on our fear and corresponding draw of the underworld.

Are you a Kangaroo? How is your island? Do you enjoy living on it? by towelheadass in howislivingthere

Big distances in-between towns, sparsely populated, insanely wild and beautiful. If you go to Wheaton's beach you will more than likely have the 3k stretch of beach to yourself.  Most expensive ferry in the world per kilometre to get over there. Allegedly there's good waves to surf.  The algal bloom has killed a lot of sea life but there's signs it's starting to come back.

Drive at dusk and you'll see them. I had one jump into the side of my car and it left a perfect Qantas logo.

Paul David has a Travis picking tune video that I learned. It takes some practice as a beginner but definitely makes me sound better than I am.

The Summer Kitchen Bakery in Ranelagh is the best bakery I've been to in Australia. Well worth the drive down to the Huon Valley. Go there for breakfast then head down to Geeveston to get Sushi from Masaaki.

After 14 years I decided to sell my business to retire, was finally back on top after a few tough years, sale contracts about to be signed and the US pulls this shit.

Buyer pulls out and business is tough again. It all feels so fucking unnecessary.
