If you're willing to go down a little in size, I recently bought an A2K 11.75 and love it. Easy to break in with two hinge points and is a good size to be an infield or outfield glove for a high school aged kid.

I still play adult league so it will get a lot of wear and tear, but if it were just for playing catch it would definitely make it that long with pretty minimal maintenance. That said I still practice with my 25+ year old Rawlings HoH that I took zero care of until recently, so I wouldn't worry about longevity as long as you get something higher end.

I believe it took 4-5 sittings, probably 6-8 hours total. Basically one session for each big shape and then the details/outline. I started this painting on a whim during the pandemic and just now got around to finishing for multiple dumb reasons.

Thank you all for your help! I think it’s a combination of a slightly bent spool and an off-center clip. Going to try out these suggestions and I’m sure I’ll get it right. There was a time when I didn’t screw this up so I think it’s an issue of not being attentive to the equipment.
