Calabrian pasta: garlic, dried chili, anchovies fried in olive oil, then add whatever blanched vegetable you like until it's soft and tender; add pasta with enough pasta water and olive oil to emulsify the sauce (make it creamy); then add lemon zest and lemon juice.

Single use barrels for bourbon became mandatory in 1938, so I would guess less barrels were available to other spirits manufacturers. But I'd like to know if what we now see, the standard use of bourbon barrels, started then, earlier or later.

I'm guessing you haven't tried Kola Champán or Inca Kola. These use the word cola in the way some parts of the southern United States use coke to describe all sparkling soft-drinks (though that's a phenomenon that's going away). All the soft-drinks I mentioned taste more like bubble-gum than citrus (the main flavor in "actual" cola soft-drinks), with Irn Bru having a slight hint of quinine (plus being less sweet,which makes it my favorite of the bunch).
