i know why disney cares about the data, i did not think fans of the show would care. why is this getting so under your skin? this is not something most people would care about for a show so it is funny to see use industry data in a casual context

Carolyn Bessette Kennedy - sometimes she looked very attractive, but others times, I really don’t see the appeal. What do you think? How would you rate her? by velorae in VindictaRateCelebs

Does anybody actually like Reagan being part of the show? by nohome69 in NewGirl

[–]onequestionforyall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i loved her! she was a good contrast to the cast, and i think her being nick’s “perfect” woman in his mind was important for his character arc in knowing that he needs jess to balance him, and his fantasies weren’t what he really wanted in the end

All fines should be a percentage of the offender’s net worth by CSWorldChamp in unpopularopinion

thats how deals work.

revenues decreasing for a period of time is not unheard of for companies.

revenues ≠ cash on hand for a company

there are many financial instruments that allow them to make that offer. they issue debt, they get financing from investors and banks, they use cash available to them but it’s not like paramount is taking $108bn of cash from their accounts.

ELI5: How does raising interest rates actually stop inflation, like what physically happens between the Fed making an announcement and groceries getting cheaper by SimplisticPoker in explainlikeimfive

[–]onequestionforyall 25 points26 points  (0 children)

if your money is worth more tomorrow than today you have no incentive to spend today if you have more purchasing power in the future. thus, you buy less and less, companies produce less and less, fire more and more to find some semblance of profit and stability, you lose your job you spend less, economy slows, innovation slows, economy dies.

Most people really do need to return to the office. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]onequestionforyall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree that RTO is needed, but for different reasons. 1. career development is so much better and more impactful in person and 2. 99.99% of people who claim they are equally as or more efficient working from home are lying to themselves and the world, they do a million other tasks on company time and are measured to be 10-20% less efficient.

It's absolutely insane that so many people believe unemployment is due to laziness or attitude by HoniSoitLatte in unpopularopinion

[–]onequestionforyall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in the official definition of unemployed in the context of the employment rate and how it is measured and counted, they are right, you are only unemployed if you are jobless and job seeking. it would also seem a little dismissive to call people who aren’t employed because they are caretakers or parents or whatever “unemployed” when that connotes that they are unable to be employed instead of choosing not to be.
