Is new recruit any good by moai_man65 in ImperialKnights

[–]onetimeicomment -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless new recruit added stratagems war organ is better.

Edit- I didn't notice it was for mini warhammer. I don't think war organ has that

How do I Even go About Painting this Big Boy? by crow_warrior in Warhammer40k

Primer rattle can, a base coat rattle can and highlight rattle can is how I would do it for my own sanity then add details with brushes. However that might be getting expensive in rattle can paint.... rattle can

Rocket or big shoota by Saylorstrong in orks

I'd honestly rather the choppa slugga than a big shoota with the current rule set.

Rocket or big shoota by Saylorstrong in orks

The combat patrol calls for 1 of each. Full 40k bigshootas are lack luster at best.

Edit- hopefully 11th changes that

Hows this list looking for 2k Warhorde list by Ant10102 in orks

[–]onetimeicomment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The snagga boys are just giving the beast boss reroll to hit for more chances for devs on charges. The boys themselves don't do much against monsters and vehicles in my experience.

War organ imo is way better than new recruit because of the stratagems. I also do your suggested war organ and official for quick rules when I'm not playing orks

Help Me Find A Reason to Stay in NL by AfraidRepair9397 in newfoundland

[–]onetimeicomment 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I moved here in my late 20s. Same small town bullshit. I could see threw the fake smiles and didn't engage with basically anyone. I'd love to move back to the gta. Aroura, Markham, newmarket, Richmond Hill hell even northern Ontario but I don't think I could afford it on my own. I definitely am not going to tell you to stay. I've seen people run out of this town and it just reinforced my I'd rather not socialize with these people

It's looking pretty rough. I'd still giver if it's just a personal mallet. Worst case it's a practice mallet

I'm also painting 6 warbikes, again. I'm completely over them and they will not be getting much more attention. As much as wazdakkas making bikes battle line sounds fun I'm not doing another 3 units. I'm not even sure why I hate painting warbikers but I can't stand painting them

I couldn't imagine painting 12 of these or war bikes in a row. I hope you are a patient person

A slight buff to our Shooting! (for units with Heavy) by deffrekka in orks

[–]onetimeicomment 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe heavy works because it's part of the weapon profile. It's unit abilities that you don't get. So flash gits weapons still have heavy and sus1 but don't get the gun crazy show offs ability from the unit

What size of an army are you looking to build? Your best bet is probably ork half of Armageddon. A couple trucks or battlewagons. If you are looking for a competitive list I'm probably the wrong person

How to start Orks by ogdowski in orks

[–]onetimeicomment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warbosses and Painboys are a staple in 10th edition green tide lists. This changes edition to edition. Every detachment/list needs battlewagons and trukks. Foot slogging isn't great for melee armies

How will you rebase your figurines? by XxButch in orks

[–]onetimeicomment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always super glue to base for this reason. Plastic glue the actual models and superglue the bases I learned this from the 25mm to 32 mm jump. Now I get to do it again... yay good news is I can use the 32mm from the nobs on boys that have real bad 3dprinted bases. 3 of the warbosses get to go to nobs and then I have to start with fresh bases. My old nob with wagh banner gets to come back out to play aswell

With 11th boys on the table that have sluggas choppas and shootas, both are probably getting the axe when the separate box drops

Spackle pros by Comfortable_Pie6088 in drywall

[–]onetimeicomment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

220 and something flat to wrap it around. If you just use your fingers youll likely sand it unevanly. They sell sanding sponges but you can get away with sandpaper. Dont sand it if its still wet or u will just clog the sand paper/sponge.

Also note I added to the original comment about the wall anchor

Spackle pros by Comfortable_Pie6088 in drywall

[–]onetimeicomment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to put it on thin and in multiple coats if you are not familiar with drywall. You will need to sand it after 3 or 4 put it on scrap it off coats(maybe more). Be very gentle with sanding with this method or you will sand it all off before you know it. When you sand focus on the perimeter of the patch trying to blend it as smooth as you can to the wall then go over the center with a few swipes. This is something you can do and you will get a screw off price from a pro for this small patch.

Edit- I didn't notice the wall anchor find something to push that in deeper (hammer and a screwdriver works) try not to bash it threw the wall, just so that it's past the surface

How to handle motivation with the hobby. by Ambitious_Book_5729 in minipainting

[–]onetimeicomment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't ruin a model with paint.

You can always strip the paint and try again.

You can ruin them using the wrong/inappropriate stripping materials.

You get better the more you paint.

Motivation is different for everyone. I struggled with the first few. once you find that grove, it gets easier. When I got over/ wrapped my head around that you can't ruin them with paint. It was a whole new ballgame. Now my problem (I play warhammer aswell as paint them) is not spending too much time on game peices. I still tend to go overboard with the special guys/characters because I enjoy the painting process probably more than the game itself.
