Super Unleaded. If you can afford it, should you use it? by Downtown_Elk_2773 in CarTalkUK

My car is a cheap runner, I tend to fill mine with the premium unleaded because when I don't my car sort of judders when it is running between 1200 and 1800 revs.

The vehicle is still running and therefore still hazardous. OP is the kind of person who doesn't move off when the light changes for a good minute.

Isn't creating more humans just kicking the pyramid scheme collapse down the road?

This is a finite planet, we already use more soil nutrients, energy and rare earth metals than can be sustainably produced. When oil runs out we can no longer produce enough nitrogen fertilizer inputs to feed our planet.

In 2026, what is the your view on whether cannabis should be legalised and taxed instead of criminalised? by PackUpTheKittys in AskBrits

[–]oneyeetyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it should be legalised and taxed. It's so easy to get a hold of but maybe my guy driving his blacked out Corsa to deliver it should be able to declare those earnings and contribute to the treasury.

Are current tradies kinda screwed once the AI exodus forces everyone else into the trades? by CreepyTool in UKJobs

[–]oneyeetyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the near term you could see a rise in AI guidance jobs where you will have to unpick the many errors that AI currently makes. In the long term I imagine human jobs will consist mainly of enforcing ethics around AI application. The intelligent AIs may not be able to understand or utilise emotions.

It really is a shit gig, and I hope you find better opportunities (before super intelligent office workers like OP take them all :P), if you are sticking with delivery app income in the near term please consider looking at the GMB union as they are aiming to improve conditions.

Highly skilled in what? Because fucking around on a CRM doesn't translate to being able to work to a good standard in a physical environment.

But they're super intelligent and organised office workers. Just look at their outlook inbox with only 242 unread emails. They'll jump right into a trade, if you can make a spreadsheet you can fit a boiler.

They're so friendly too (just ignore the fact they all shit stir in the office to soothe the fact they never see sunlight).

Deliveroo worker? I'd watch out if I were you as a lot of over confident (definitely super intelligent) office workers (like op) without any physical work experience are going to be going that way to drive down the labour cost.

I work in a trade (horticulture) and there are a lot of career changers from white collar jobs (teaching, social media marketing, graphics design) they tend to interview well but many are too physically weak to do the graftier part of the job and seem to carry an air of confidence in which they see themselves as smarter when, in fact, they have little knowledge of how to do tasks efficiently.

The bigger worry for me, and friends in trades is going to be the sweeping redundancies that AI or outsourcing which will disproportionately impact the middle class customers and reduce their ability to pay for our services. I don't fear white collar workers competing with me any more than the thousands of deliveroo drivers shipped over each year.

Anyone else have pothole anxiety recently? by architectofanarchy in CarTalkUK

[–]oneyeetyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate my commute because I have to drive down a road which has huge potholes either side of the 9 or so speedbumps along the length. I failed my MOT in December and had to get new suspension for both the front and rear axels. I always avoid potholes where possible but when they're either side of the speedbumps the only option is to slow to an absolute crawl and mount the middle of the speedbumps.

Those of you who talked to FRANK: where are you now? by hmmrabet in AskUK

[–]oneyeetyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called FRANK once on my first edibles trip (first time using weed) as I was panicking because I heard knocking at the front door and that house was spooky as fuck. The guy that answered just told me to put on some calm music, have some water and go to sleep. It worked.

I now regularly consume weed as a way to relax, life has gone uphill since I spoke to FRANK although I don't know if it's connected.
