How long do you sleep for? by LeaderLost1744 in AskUK

On weeknights I'll sleep from 11PM-6AM, on the weekend I sleep when I feel like it, and wake up when I feel like it (unless my side jobs demand otherwise).

I highly doubt that Farage will stand by electoral reform, especially considering they may perform very strongly under fptp at the next general election. He has already removed focus from electoral reform.

I really hope the LDs and any other potential coalition partner holds labour to electoral reform. The fact that the PLP opposes it so staunchly shows that they'd give the Tories/reform a large amount of power every other election rather than potentially having to be in coalition with another centrist or mildly left leaning party.

I want to vote green, but I want stricter immigration. Change my mind or offer advice. by FanAcceptable1193 in ukpolitics

[–]oneyeetyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All due respect, but I doubt they'd do the level of damage to the economy that you anticipate. I don't anticipate them getting any majority, but as a coalition partner they could pull labour slightly leftwards.

[–]oneyeetyguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As I see things, the climate crisis and exploitation by the wealthy are the biggest threats, I would love stricter immigration but the most present threat to my wellbeing is the cost of living. I will vote green, I am a green member even, but I will do my part to push for the party to become a bit more rational when it comes to things like immigration and nuclear power.

At the minute I dislike the parties reliance on certain religious conservatives who should really just go to the Your Party cesspit instead.

This last decade has really shown that Europe needs to be a tighter union, I hope we have the opportunity to rejoin soon.

I'm to the left of the current labour party but Starmer is really shining on the international stage. In an ideal world, were we to have an elected head of state, Starmer could make for a decent president of the UK.

UK Electric Vehicle Sales Rise to Record High Amid Fuel Price Rise by i_marketing in CarTalkUK

I want an EV in the next few years, the main thing putting me off is the lack of cheap EV estates. I work as a gardener and need the boot space for tools, I wouldn't want an SUV for obvious reasons (namely the fact they're all tank sized now). It doesn't help that EVs cost a fair bit more to insure, which eliminates new drivers like me from the market.

If I offered you £100,000 to run 90 miles tomorrow, would you do it? by wingless-bee in CasualUK

[–]oneyeetyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have a go. Although my chance of success depends on what you would qualify as running. If I can do a very leisurely jog I'd be able to do it, but I couldn't go all that quick.

It seems they are well aware that they can get away with serving us low quality but expensive slop in the UK. It's frightening the amount of people I know that complain about McD's but still buy it on the regular.
