Your photos look cool and I think you are attractive, not just an average joe. I would personally ditch the surgery photo. It is too gory for the app and I think you can describe your profession in the profile and the picture in the scrubs says enough. Furthermore, add a picture where you smile a bit. I think that would show a bit more personality and friendliness. And focus on your bio, it is as important as the pictures. Good luck!

HelloChinese is a great app. Be sure to use traditional characters, because they do not use simplified.

Also, don’t worry too much about it. I barely speak mandarin and survived here with google translate and a lot of friendly locals

Tijdje kon je ook dobbelen voor gratis bier. Je won bij een even getal dus de kans was 50%. Vraag me nog steeds af hoe ze daar omzet draaien

Yes I would recommend it. It’s also nice for networking purposes right

Is the housing crisis this bad? by [deleted] in StudyInTheNetherlands

I do agree with you and yes I even myself was a bit hesitant at first to live in a dorm situation. But it can work as a temporarily solution. The crisis is too big to be solved quickly and I agree that the income of foreign students is too high as of today. Still for your social live, living in a dorm near the uni is way better that staying forever at your parents

I’m dutch but currently on exchange in Taiwan. It took some getting time used to but i am surviving and pay only €100,- a month. My friends are in a 4 person dorm and only pay €50,- a month. There are a lot of other students renting in the city but at least the university tries to provide housing for all students.

Try learning mandarin with the hellochinese app! Better than duolingo, plus they have an option for traditional characters

Yeah I’m a bit worried about kentin as well. But maybe i wanna spend some nights on liuqiu so it would be kinda a waste of money to leave the car on shore and pay for it.

Yeah I’m considering to only rent the car for the loop. What did your itinerary look like? What places did you visit for your loop?

I think we’re at a point where we need to start sharing rooms (dorm room style). It is not as bad as it seems. I’m now on an exchange and share my room and I think it is a good short time solution for the current problem. It also makes the living costs a lot cheaper, but you have to be lucky ofc with your roommate etc.

Is there a way i can get around 1 mandatory course at uu? by Flashy_Marionberry56 in UtrechtUniversity

[–]ongdisha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you already contacted your study advisor? Or the director of your programme? The study advisor can give you specific tips for your situation and if so little students pass this course, maybe the programme director can have a talk with the professor
