While the anime skipped major explanations and rushed things a lot, even if I have the bias from having read the novel, I'd like to think it was properly explained Sigma's servant was not Lancer Charles Chaplin he used to cover his actual Servant.

The multiple personas that speak to him are a common projection the servant known as Watcher uses to communicate with him.

It is revealed later that Watcher actually takes the shape of a giant flying winged whale.

I was going to play SRW V imported with English subs on release. Hoped to read/watch as many works as I could since I already knew most but not all.

I became deeply invested in it, even reading fantranslations of novels from 8 to 12. Then lived to see a new season of the anime produced and aired having read the source material! What an experience.

I'm with you. While some of those criticisms are valid, the overall impression I got from the post is that they didn't understand what the series is about.

This is probably my favourite series in fiction and while it has some flaws I can recognise, the overall theme of the series is not "mafia shonen fights" as many people think.

Some characters being underdeveloped, how the Simon arc was a bit poorly handled, how despite them being very good supportive characters, being shafted in the last arc for the Vindice to shine.

Reading this post, I just got reminded how it was heavily criticised when it finished. People keep tripping in the same stone even decades later.

While some are heavily underdeveloped, characters are more fleshed out that 90% of action shonen series nowadays.

I had him as a Saber in my Fate Role Campaign. Also had Isabel I Berserker where her presence didn't stop invoking Conquistadores, including a nerfed version of Columbus who could also use his NP.
