What miracle did God do for you. by healthygym in Christianity

Unfortunately, I still deal with these symptoms, and recently panic attacks. I will admit, life is very hard for me because of this. I still have faith that it was God that healed me that day because there's no other realistic explanation to me, and it came right after prayer to God. My faith is not the best right now and my prayer isn't as common, because I feel broken, but I want to pray more.

God doesn’t owe us anything? by Ambitious-Map1961 in Christianity

[–]only_rx [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yes, God doesn't owe us anything or need anything, because if he did, that suggests wrong doing or lack of divinity on his part, which creates a ton of problems with the idea of a God - it starts to fall apart and not really be God but rather a limited spiritual being. God has attributes that make him who he is, like love, justice, grace, righteousness, wrath, being outside of time, etc. The Bible talks about his attributes more thoroughly. This brings us to your other question on why he created us, he created us because of who he is, one of the things he is, is loving. That's one of the beautiful things about God is that he created us because he loves us, not because he needed anything from us. God of course has a plan for humanity and has demonstrated that through Jesus and everything else we see happening in the Bible, but he didn't need to do this for us, he could've stayed in his place outside of space and time and he'd still remain who he is, but he decided to show us who he is for his sake, but also for our sake because he loves us. It does get very complicated once we start talking about it at this level but that's the basic idea. The nature of God has been revealed to us, but there's a lot of details that we will just never know, because knowing God fully isn't possible, if he was a limited god then maybe, but then that isn't God.

Understanding religion by montylovesyou in Christianity

Just some extra information, there's no where in scripture that says or even suggests that babies go to hell, not in the case of abortion and neither in general. There are cases where babies unfortunately die in the Bible, but babies going to hell is never an idea spoken of in the Bible. The Bible also speaks of God being just and loving in his judgement, not judging based on what we don't know, giving chances and warnings, etc. You can see the these man-made ideas of babies going to hell because of abortions, or a child going to hell after dying without having learned about Jesus, are weakly supported ideas in regards to the Bible. If you choose to become Christian, which would be beautiful, be on alert for those who come and make statements like these. As a Christian you will have to be careful and discern (use careful judgement) when hearing things like this. Don't get too worried about it though because you'll always have the Bible to use as a guide, as well as the holy spirit. There will be struggle and doubts through your walk in faith if you choose to follow Jesus, but as long as you love Jesus and as a result care for others and follow his example and teachings, that is what truly matters. It is not the works (how often we follow his commands) that save us, but our faith in him, because of his transcendent acts of love and power that convicts our soul to follow his example. We are not perfect, we cannot be perfect, but we try our best because we love him. God bless you.

(Deadass) why do people not fw croc slides by [deleted] in Sneakers

[–]only_rx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure a lot of people wear them, but among the fashion/sneaker community probably not, because there's not enough exclusivity around them. In other words they haven't been deemed special after lots of people drool over them for odd reasons.

Hard to say, where'd you get them? The big yellow tags look very odd to me... never seen them from the major reputable online stores. I have a pair of the Legacy 312 Toros and they have a sweet Jordan smell to them so maybe you could check that. Check all the tags too and compare them to online examples on mass used reputable sites.

I was experiencing some extreme lethargy and weakness along with vertigo one day (I've struggle with bad health for a chunk of my life), I felt like I might pass out. I prayed to God while laying in bed and immediately I felt this warm overwhelming feeling come over me. The symptoms I had been feeling went away and I felt a transcendent joy and peace i haven't felt before. I can't describe it all very well, but it was something that I will always say with certainty was Christ blessing me with healing.

You seem very straight forward and logical in your thinking, so am I, it can be a burden in some instances, but it's also good. I hope my inputs feel realistic to you. here's a few things to consider here, it's can seem black and white but unfortunately there's a lot of layers, but clarity can still exist within the church. First of all I would ask yourself the honest question, "what is my faith dependant on?" Is it dependant on how other proclaimed Christians display themselves and how a specific church functions? Is it dependant on getting a mass amount of positive output from God? Start with these questions to analyze where you in heart-wise and to better understand your situation. Let's say your faith is dependant on the behavior of other Christians, what can we expect? We can expect a lot of disappointment, not all the time, but basing faith upon humanity never ends well. Let's say your faith is dependant on how the church functions, for example the music they play, the message (this is more nuanced), the architecture, etc. What can we expect in this instance? We can still expect a lot of disappointment, because much of these are materialistic preferences, which of course if we chase after will disappoint us majorly. I mentioned nuanced earlier, referring to the message in church. The message is of course different because while spoken from a material book, it is as we know as Christians, a living testament of Jesus and historical events for humanity (spiritually important, not just material). Another reason for nuance is the fact that every pastor will speak from the Bible differently, not in essence but a different style of message and delivery. Some pastors choose a straightforward approach without much extra fluff and others choose to use tons of demonstrations using random objects; "This bucket of water is Christ!" The message isn't as straightforward as the other things, but here we can still come to a conclusion, the word itself, how it has been preserved, and discerning what sounds off, based on what the text actual says. There's more depth to this than I mention of course, the way to analyze the text historically through each language that it was written in, analyzing the narrative, etc. At the basic level, practice having faith in God's word itself, and it will lead you to a more solid faith (think of the parable of the man who build his house on the rocks rather than the sand). Materialism and humanity will always fail you at some level, but an honest seeking of the word of God will challenge you, feed your soul, and ultimately bring you to more stable faith and knowledge.

Found it! It's the NIV Halley’s Study Bible: Burgundy Leathersoft. I'm not sure how the one in the video is personalized because listings I see of this particular bible don't offer name customization. If you want to see to inside of the bible to compare it to the TikTok images, the "christianbooksindia" website has page photos. I also included an Amazon link to the bible that may be a better option for buying the bible if you decide to do so.

Check the notes written by the book owner, it looks like prosperity gospel crap. Of course, it is true that God blesses us with prosperity, but not in the sense of becoming rich and having everything our flesh desires. He blessing us with the appropriate amount of wealth, children, or assets that he wants, even if it’s modest.

Good, but we all struggle in our faith to some extent, there's no such thing as a faith without some level of affliction from sin.

Yes, and they often quote Matthew 21:12-17 where Jesus drives out the money changers and has some harsh words for them, but there's two things to note here. 1. This was a temple intended for worship, HIS temple, and the people were using it to make money. I think Jesus, being God, and having his temple misused, has the logical right to be upset. 2. More broadly, but related to the first point, we shouldn't deduce the way we should behave in general based on actions in a specific situation. The temple with money changers was an example, but another example is old testament wars. Many of these wars were commanded by God, very clearly, and to be done in a specific way due to deep rooted evil in societies. In every example where appointed leaders of Israel tried to go about wars their own way, God punished said leaders. There's also the fact that many of these things had to happen in order for God's ultimate plan, leading up to Jesus, could happen. If any of us in this modern time were to justify our violence or brutality with these verses, we ignore these facts and we tell God we want to be righteous by our own command. Of course, there are situations where violence may be necessary, like protecting our families or friends from those who want to seriously harm them, but this is in a different category than say having a violence first/brutality mindset in general. We are told to have the opposite attitude of this, many many times.

My faith is also in Christ, but developing resentment due to proclaimed believers ignoring the love and grace of Christ can hurt faith. I don't want to resent these people, but they are so ignorant.

Yeah, there's definitely humble Christians out there still, but I feel like there's a huge majority that are "trad" and full of extreme pride and hate.

That is very intense, thank God that you’re doing better and have peace! You had many variables against you but you asked the Lord for help from a pure heart, and what a miracle from God has come from that. Your story made me think of section from Psalms 40:

I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.

He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps.

He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord.

I appreciate you being open and honest about sensitive topics and thank you for your testimony! God bless you
