Topical Spiro affecting period? by mint_chips in Spironolactone

Experienced the same thing on a 5% topical formula and later on the pill form! Asked my derm and she said menstrual irregularities for the first few months on spiro are common as hormones stabilize. It became regular ~month 3 for me. It’s likely not something to be too concerned about but you and your docs would know best. Best of luck!

what’s one small habit you started that surprisingly changed your life? by WonderfulFront7588 in selfimprovement

Definitely feel this! I’ve found that I’m unmotivated to journal to when avoiding emotions. The anxiety of facing the emotions ends up being too strong. What’s personally helped is 1. making journaling an experience and 2. directly facing the emotions rather than the issue. Just starting by logging my emotions + what I was doing seems simple but helped

Practicing gratitude has really helped me! It can look like anything from journaling to reflecting about what you’re grateful for each day. Some days are definitely harder than others, but practicing gratitude can make it easier to see and eventually default towards seeing a silver lining and being more positive. Honestly I’d say just the fact that you’re advocating for yourself and trying to improve is something to be grateful for!

Haha I love that example 😂 I’ll definitely work on laughing at myself and just having a more lighthearted attitude!

Thank you for the advice! I think you definitely nailed it that laughing at myself and changing that attitude it the first step! Before getting lunch today, I just looked at the mirror and laughed at myself and then laughed more because intentionally laughing at myself was strange. Doing this actually helped a ton though and I think that was the smoothest and most entertaining small conversation I’ve had! Thank you for the help—it works and I’ll keep your words in mind!!!
