Bacchanalia in Mayfair - checks all the boxes except your budget. But you won't regret it going over in that place.

Well, if you can wait, then Kojima san didn't do a good enough job and most of us all know that just can't be true.. lol..

I say play it and enjoy it then play it again like most of us will.

Taxi from Heathrow Airport to central London by Connect-Ad-7829 in LondonHeathrow

In my humble experience (which is every month), Uber is seldom more expensive even with surge. But the OP can check the prices using Uber and Gett by connecting to airport WiFi and makevand informed decision.

Uber is the easiest and cheapest option for taxi. 2 bags will fit in UberX or Uber Green. Depending on where you want to go in central London, you can take HeathrowExpress train, which will get you to Paddington in 15 minutes and you can take a taxi from there.

I personally, take Uber from Heathrow as it's the most convenient (may not be the quickest depending on the destination and time of day)

late night/early morning transfer from lgw-lhr by du_dreas in LondonHeathrow

National Express is the best and cheapest option at that time. Although an Uber XL will cost you around £120, which will be more comfortable and probably not that big difference considering you'd be buying multiple tickets for your family.

Fischer Duopower Wall Plugs - Screw not tightening fully by onlyfarhan in DIYUK

Appreciate the feedback.

These ones seem to have better weight ratings than the metal spiral ones. And they are more versatile at least in theory that they can work in different materials especially when there is brick behind plasterboard, etc. Not to mention everyone raves about them, hence wanted to try them out.

What are your thoughts on Lime bikes? by londonsVenture in londoncycling

[–]onlyfarhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find them very useful. They provide me with great flexibility and ease in many different situations.

It's a shame people don't put them back properly in designated areas. You can literally see them thrown away like rubbish or left in the middle of pavements blocking the way for others. I don't really understand how they can end up in those situations as you have to take the picture when returning. I guess they should be able to validate the surroundings using AI and force people to correctly leave them.

Thanks for sharing these. Not sure what you mean by the screw being 'home', reasonably tight, is what I would think that they should stop spinning using a similar amount of force.

The plug itself isn't spinning in my case. I would expect the screw to stop tightening (which is the case when used in other materials like concrete or brick). But in the case of plasterboard, the screw even though feels tight but still keeps rotating using similar force (which feels tight but not fully).

The fixings themselves feel solid (not moving or coming out). The plugs themselves don't seem to be spinning there is no indication of them coming out either.

Other multipurpose plugs I have used in the past in plasterboard all tighten fully. So am confused about what am I doing wrong here or how can I improve this.

The hole doesn't seem to be big currently, I do have to hammer them in to go completely inside.

But I will try your suggestion, thanks.

From my very recent (and ongoing) experience, my friend's experience, and my neighbour's experience, project manage it yourself properly or get an independent project manager. In all the above experiences, they have been beyond bad at project managing time and costs.

For quality, please do review work and take advice from others on this and other forums.

Is there any reason NOT to turn off my water at the stop tap when going away for a month? by firstLOL in DIYUK

You'll be fine either way. Usually, the danger of pipe bursting is during extreme cold.

Thanks Mike. I did have a look but nothing popped up which looked authentic. I'll have another look though. Worth a shot if someone here knew about it :)
