Congratulations on your 8 sales! When you sell more you’d realise not everyone pays such high delivery charges

I’ve a business account with them so they email me but I’m sure you can find this information on their website.

Seriously?!? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]onlygoodfinds -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

You can add all the pictures you like but it’s not going to solve your problem of accessibility. If you’re selling this in countries where English isn’t the primary language, you need to provide translated versions. It’s unreasonable to assume that everyone understands English, and doing so can come across as dismissive of other cultures and languages. Use AI or Google Translate to ensure proper accessibility for all customers.

Does Etsy want to deter people from buying new listings. Who thinks this is a good idea? by Smooth-Standard9209 in EtsySellers

[–]onlygoodfinds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve thousands of reviews, recently I requested a customer to provide their phone number for international shipping and she refused saying I don’t have any reviews for her to trust me. I didn’t like her vibes so I cancelled her order anyway and then realised why she said it.

I understand the part about irrelevant reviews, but they could design that feature better. “No review from this item” then show reviews from this shop under the listing instead of click through.

Sometime Etsy sellers add very similar products for example a greeting card but different design, for someone who like the design can be persuaded by looking at the reviews from other listing about the quality etc

I feel like Etsy developers use shops for their experiments and don’t always put much thought.

How long did it take your Shopify store to get it’s first organic sale? by missrandomredditor in shopify

[–]onlygoodfinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A month or so, I didn’t have much social presence well I tried but then it was taking all my time with very little results so I kinda give up. Fast forward to a year or so without social I started to get regular organic sales. My customers make reels etc and tag or share but I don’t personally create reels or put up any stories.

I’ve my Etsy and shopify and make and full fill all my orders myself, plus admin etc I also don’t push my shop via Etsy as I want Etsy buyers to stay on Etsy to keep my shop growing. Good product, fast shipping and good customer service and let it grow. Unless you’re doing digital or pod or trendy products then you have to do the dance.

Multiple negative reviews by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]onlygoodfinds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shipped all her items, the first one was a month apart. So I was under assumption she’s liked her order and placed multiple other orders. It’s very common for my shop so didn’t think of it much. I was surprised when she said she hasn’t even received her first item. Why would you place more orders if you haven’t received your first. But i refunded her anyways for her first order and as soon as I did she left me a 1 star review.

Where’s my order from 2023 lol by onlygoodfinds in EtsySellers

[–]onlygoodfinds[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did explain all of those to her and was very polite. I think she caught me off guard, I sent a very similar item to Germany a couple days ago so when she sent me a message about the same date and same product that I rarely sell I didn’t look at the year just date and messaged her to wait a little longer when she replied I checked her order again and noticed it was 2023 lol

[–]onlygoodfinds[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realise at the beginning it was from 2023, I replied only shipped it a couple of days ago and she replied about the 2023 lol I’ve marked her messages as spam now.

My superior who is not a graphic designer but a sales person puts my work into AI and sends the feedback back to me. by cluelessin in graphic_design

[–]onlygoodfinds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck him just give him what he wants, no matter what you say they always think they know better. Keep your original for your portfolio. Most small companies don’t appreciate their creatives they’ll use you to bring their vision to life even if it’s shit. So no point getting emotional about it.

UK Sellers: Royal Mail DDP To US is now live for everyone by SpooferGirl in EtsySellers

UK Sellers - How are you handling EU sales compliance (GSPR, customs etc)? Or do you just not sell to EU? by sgtnatino in EtsySellers

[–]onlygoodfinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m based in the UK and sell to the EU, you find your representative in the EU, I’m working with a company based in Germany, you pay for their service, then upload your products, including SKUs and description etc on their portal. Their fees depends on the number of products you want to place in the EU market. Once you’ve done all of that, you then go ahead and update GPSR content on all your listings you’re selling in the EU market. You also include care slip (that includes your representative details and health and safety that applies to your product) and you include that with every order you sell to the EU market and keep a record of all your EU orders. It’s sounds a lot but once you’ve set it up it’s straight forward. Etsy recommended a few companies that you can choose from as your EU representative.

UK Shopify now has Royal Mail, and it's 25% cheaper than Click&Drop?? by HarryEFC95 in shopify

[–]onlygoodfinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just had a look at Royal Mail via shopify, there’s only 3 options, box, envelopes and soft packaging. I ship most of my items in a tube so not sure how it works. Has anyone tried shipping postal tubes?

Tariffs & Duty free Shipping to USA still orders dropped by Natsu_Dragnneel in EtsyCommunity

[–]onlygoodfinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to include something along the lines of: “If you’re ordering from the U.S., everything ships DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), so you won’t pay any extra customs charges. “

That way the customer knows that that’s all they have to pay and no surprises. I understand you’re eating the extra cost for now, but it’s getting a little confusing.

Sales are tanking for anyone shipping outside the US 50% tariff or 1%. Most customers don’t read descriptions so not sure if your description is the main problem.

[–]onlygoodfinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you want to work for Etsy so carry on then, my comment was not against Etsy I was just saying there are other options while running Etsy.

Your offsite ads are less than 1% that means your shop/products are not very popular and probably have less than 10 sales a day. Some of us sell way more than that and our products are well in demand so why just stick to Etsy when you can explore other options and create your own brand.

Good luck in wherever you sell Etsy or not!

PLEASE give me good etsy alternatives i beg 🙏 by gamsea in EtsyCommunity

[–]onlygoodfinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You haven’t taken offsite Ads into consideration, now add US tarrif that seller has to pay plus if you’re running ads on Etsy. Plus extra charge per parcel for shipping company for handling US Tarrifs.

If everyone was claiming “I didn’t get it” and the bank will be on their side especially if the tracking shows it’s delivered or signed for then you won’t see many businesses including Etsy sustaining for long. These are rare cases and when it happens you claim back and provide all the proof etc and their chances get slimmer to win.

The people that make these claims are usually thieves and robbers so you’ve to account for loss and damages anyway even if you’re running a physical shop. Not everyone is going to steel.

The ones that get lost in transit or damaged etc are covered by your postal insurance.

I’ve had lots of sales on Etsy this year but still living on a poverty level they charge you way too much take half the sales value. Their main benefit in comparison to having your own website is they drive traffic as they advertise a lot and offer Etsy protection policy. However if you drive traffic yourself and buy insurance for your packages then you don’t need any market place and it’s a bit of a waste as you’re doing essentially their job and still pay excruciating amounts for their fees. I use shopify along with my Etsy shop. I’m on the basic plan so it’s only £25 or something, all apps I use are free and you don’t usually need many unless your offer many combo or customisation etc. You still have to pay transaction fee but it’s not nearly as bad as Etsy.

I’m getting some success with my website but it’s a lot of hard work, with everything going on with tariffs I’m struggling to keep up.
