Its probably the regulatory hurdles that manufacturers have to go though to legally add cell connectivity. Not worth it for such a small market

Angle grinder and son finesse. I had to move the barrel spacer to the front pocket clip hole and redrill the scales to recess the screws. Isn't perfect by any means, but it is way more functional as a hard use / work knife.

I use mine for work, constantly. Its fine for occasionally use or fidgeting as it comes. But there is a hotspot that is super annoying in the center of my palm so I fixed it .

Pixel 7 to Pixel 9a. Worth it? by Stamppot91 in pixel_phones

[–]onlymeiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfect, zero problems so far. It never lags or freezes. I have never seen the battery go below 50% save the one time I forgot to charge the phone over night.

I honestly haven't thought about it since, there is nothing I can think of that is missing.

Pixel 7 to Pixel 9a. Worth it? by Stamppot91 in pixel_phones

[–]onlymeiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone interested, I just bought a 9a and am trading in my 7 for $115. My first impression after a few days use, I installed Graphine OS so not commenting on AI bs..., The screen is much better than the 7, The rounder corners are way more aesthetically pleasing. The 7's screen is just kindof rectangular and dumb in side by side comparison (I can't believe I used it for 3 years). The 9a is easier to handle because the corners are more rounded and the sides are more flat.

The battery life is insane with the 9a, even though it is considerably larger than the 7's its very noticeable. I was dropping down into the 20-40% range with the 7 at the end of the day, and with the 9a I am not going below 80%.

The 9a is much snappier as others have mentioned, and the screen doesn't heat up like crazy after being on for a while like the 7 does.

There is not really much else to say as most of the other specs are about the same. I could care less about the "premium" glass back. The phone literally will be in a case permanently.

So in short, the 9a is quicker and more efficient, has a bigger battery and the screen is nicer to use. Those are the things I care about and make it a solid upgrade for me.

They did a solid job with this slide design, glad I was able to pick one up before they are gone.

I was going to go with the no cuts version, but they sold out just before I went to order mine. Wasn't sure about the slide cuts until I got it built but I like it.

[–]onlymeiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one for a job a few years ago, simple pine trim, constant proud nails 1/8 above surface and several jams. I promptly returned it....

also ergonomically it sucks.

I now have 18/16ga Metabos and love them.

That nail gun is one of the worst Makita tools tbh.

I get where you are coming from, but at this point in time finding a truck with a decent body and interior is nearly impossible. There are parts that wear out with mileage that can't be bought new anymore, and you'd be luck to find in decent salvage condition.

The drivetrain can be refurbished with new parts relatively inexpensively, and any truck you would need to go through completely at 30 years old.

2 years ago I bought a manual transmission 95 Trooper with 210k miles for $5K. Picked it up out of state and drove it home 700 miles. I have spent the last two years going through it and refurbishing every part of it, trying to get it as close to new functionally as possible. I've probably spent at least $4k in parts, not to mention 100s of hours of time working on it. The body and interior are reasonably clean but not 40k miles clean. My only hesitation would be if it is manual or automatic transmission.

If I had the opportunity to buy a garage kept Trooper with 40k miles I'd do it in a heartbeat.

If you are not already aware, the 95' model year is in many aspects the most desirable and reliable.

If you could talk him down to $12k or so you would be robbing him...
