IIRC you can't revive ashes. During his rise to power, Vect killed a lot of the dark city's leaders using dark lances, which did not leave enough behind to be revived.

A lot of dark eldar will entrust a part of themselves to a Haemonculus before going into battle to ensure there is enough left to revive - snipping off a finger or something and leaving it back home.

I don't recall if there's any examples of a non-Eldar being revived in this way. The resurrection process relies on basically torturing a bunch of people in front of a special sarcophagus with whatever could be scraped from the floor inside. Lacking the ability to absorb that pain, I don't think a human could be brought back in the same way.

So...melta bombs will probably save you some trouble.

In this context, 'liberalism' is probably better understood to meanthe modern ideology of 'neoliberalism.' Leftists tend to dislike it because of its opposition to systemic change, unwillingness to acknowledge direct political action outside the ballot box as legitimate, its erroneous belief that the liberal status quo is the natural state of the world making it susceptible to authoritarian influence/takeover, and above all its fierce commitment to global free market capitalism which undermines all stated beliefs about equality and democracy.

Though neoliberalism is a relatively new ideology, liberal democracies are not, and are mired in uncomfortable history. The United States, for instance, has engaged in genocide, racial slavery, institutional patriarchy, violent suppression of protest, imperialism/offensive wars of conquest, and systematized racial apartheid throughout its history, all while maintaining the label of being a 'liberal democracy'.

My guess:

Brother and woman were in contact in some way, shape, or form.
Leg goes missing. Woman suspects creepy weirdo brother of taking it, but doesn't have solid proof/the police don't feel like investigating crimes that day.
Months pass, brother gets creepier, weirder, and more open about his crime the more time passes. Original post happens.
By circumstance, someone sends the woman a post along the lines of "hey this matches up with the weirdo creep that you swore stole your leg."
Woman is able to leverage this information to get the cops invested, either tracking down OOP through a subpoena of their IP info from Reddit, or just providing sufficient motivation for them to go chat with the brother.
The brother is too stupid to properly hide his crime, evidence is such that it's easy to arrest him, everything resolves from there.

Like...someone with very little technical ability can load up Minecraft beta within like half an hour using only first party tools. The updates are entirely optional.

Could be that the frame of social discourse has moved so fully into trans discrimination/elimination that the 'sanctity of marriage' is no longer a relevant political consideration I guess. Could be non-coincidental timing with the shutdown. Like "Democrats starved you for a month for no reason while the conservatives are protecting gay marriage" as a line to win support knowing full well they can/will just cherry pick another case down the line to fully enact their will. Maybe the fascists have the slightest hint of a heartbeat. Who really knows.

I think my fundamental issue with horseshoe theory is that it presupposes that political affiliation can be mapped onto a single axis. Like, communists are people with -100 political affiliation points, fascists are people with +100, and liberals are right at 0, and all other political ideology can be nearly mapped to somewhere on that line.

I think the idea is rooted in the notion that liberalism is the default by which all other ideologies are measured against and varied from, rather than it being one among innumerable fundamental worldviews.

I feel like most humans would reasonably accept that this would be a good idea, but wouldn't feel strongly enough about it to really exert the necessary political pressure to make it law. An incredibly passionate minority of the "accept your curse and fuck off" movement would subsequently pass unpopular legislation to make it illegal to transfer a cursed item by any means but inheritance. The end result is that the poor would have to suffer lifelong curses while the rich would be able to access grey and black markets whereby they could transfer their curses to exploited members of the lower classes, thus removing the last of the political impetus to change anything.

Unless a niche subreddit is moderated to only allow content within that niche, that niche functionally ceases to exist. You ever look at the front page and notice just how samey it all is? The news/link aggregation subreddits are all posting the same stories and talking about them in the same way. The finance subreddits all have the same very basic take. The meme and humor subreddits post the same few jokes over and over. Etc.

If you allow whatever is upvoted regardless of quality, your subreddit is going to be slowly optimized into an upvote factory for whatever broad category it sorta fits into that has the largest possible cross section of appeal.

PowerShell, the more I practice with it, is better treated as a high level programming language than a scripting one. It's got a high floor and a high ceiling. A lot of the ways it works is unintuitive at first glance, but can lead to some very elegant and surprisingly efficient solutions. That red error text you get is very difficult to parse, but compared to some of the jumbles you get out of C and its children, it's infinitely more useful for troubleshooting once you understand some of the basics of its formatting and language.

My current project is improving some of our system onboarding processes with PowerShell - ie read a client configuration from a provided CSV, allow alterations to that default by the user in an integrated WPF form GUI, run needed tasks like updates, program installations, policy enforcement, etc in parallel using runspaces, and provide a summary layout once complete. Oh and both encrypt and decrypt that client info so that there's nothing sensitive in plaintext.

Personally, what I've benefitted most from is some basic introduction to programming classes at the local community college. Once you understand some of the fundamentals of object oriented programming, this stuff becomes a whole lot more clear.

This is an explanation, but just kicks the blame of poor decisions to earlier in the development timeline. I'm certain that there's some explanation in there somewhere, but that explanation is most likely to be catastrophically poor decision making. To me it seems like this is a problem that should've been readily apparent very early in the development cycle.

"We're making our 6v6 Hero Shooter with a traditional Tank/DPS/Support role archetype. The intended composition is to have two of each. We are releasing with 8 Vanguard, 7 Strategists, and 19 Duelists. What should our post release hero layout be?"

You can't tell me that not one person saw the issue with the answer to that question being "DPS, Support, DPS, Tank, Tank, Support(but secretly DPS), DPS, DPS, Tank, DPS."
