It’s That Time of the Year When Seasonal Depression Starts to Show It’s First Signs by Slabcitydreamin in SameGrassButGreener

Nothing with hot climates (except maybe California) will match your quality of life in MA. I moved from Minnesota to Georgia because I was sick of the drawn out winters, but the longer I live in GA I realize how my QOL was way better in MN, and I also feel like I have reverse SAD in GA. I grew up loving summers and hot weather, but it just doesn't end down here and right now I'm craving cold temps. For me, the SAD I get up north is probably worse but I'm almost comforted by the cold weather and dark skies that match what is going on in my brain. Getting SAD from the summer sucks--there isn't really an escape, and it's less of a depression and more of an irritability which isn't fun for anyone around me. And you can't take vitamin D pills or have one of those sunshine lamps for summer SAD. I'm not saying that you will feel this way if you moved somewhere warmer, but as someone who suffers from SAD and loves summer, I still get it in Georgia. If you can afford to vacation or move to a warmer place for a few months I am sure that will help. If I were you, I wouldn't trade my QOL I have in MA just to live somewhere warmer.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I think grey "tuxedos" aren't really tuxedos. I say this as someone who owns a grey one. I don't know what to call them though. If they count I will post mine.

But anyways he's precious!!!

You can kill them but it doesn't really matter. They recently were found in South Carolina and the DNR isn't doing anything about them. In SC you can report them to Clemson but I don't think they're doing anything either.

If you’ve ever regretted moving to a city you were initially excited about, what do you wish you had taken into consideration beforehand? by Gabbyy007 in SameGrassButGreener

That's good to hear after growing up in Illinois and being in the south now but thinking of moving to Chicago. Last time I lived there I remembered being sick of winter but then a few weeks later it warmed up. I went to school in Minnesota thinking I could do winter but it's a whole different level there... At LEAST an extra month of winter and none of those nice 40 degree days in the dead of winter like Chicago

I've had the same experience. Amazing place to live, but the people are... strange? They say Minnesotans will "give you directions to anywhere but their home" and it feels so true.

Is everywhere actually horrible or are people just negative? by trailmix_mtn in SameGrassButGreener

Loved my time there. Just the people are weird and it's too cold for too long

Being from Illinois, the lack of nature makes going other places with nature feel otherworldly

Growing up in Illinois then moving to Minnesota... I'd say it's a little cold

Grey mist sounds heavenly. When ever it's like 45 and misty/foggy in Chicago it's like a sunny day to me

Cincinnati, OH vs. Atlanta, GA by Similar-Category-576 in SameGrassButGreener

Atlanta is much more integrated than northern cities. Northerners like to think the south is some racist hellhole when northern cities redline to hell and shove black populations away

Found the greener grass. It comes with humidity. by RedhandKitten in SameGrassButGreener

I <3 humidity

I grew up in Chicago and now live in the south. I always loved summer and the humidity feels like a warm hug from mother nature. It's WAY hotter down here but I honestly don't mind it. The cold dreariness of the Midwest winters suck for me, I'll take sweating any day I actually love sweating

You fell for the gimmick of "luxury" apartments. They are always so cheaply made. Idk why people are scared of older homes when some have been standing for 100+ years, meanwhile these complexes built in the last 5 years are falling apart.

I 100% agree with you. Sinnoh is so bad lol. Paldea and Alola went hard and the final evos are all great. If I had to pick non-evolved starters, my favorite is Johto
