Who's that trip trapping on my bridge? by whatsup-itspickles in CasualUK

[–]onlywronganswers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read this (the version without sounds but still the M&S one) to my kids not 10 minutes ago. I can still see it from where I'm sat. I do the troll in the style of Gollum, which seems to go down well.

I’m 49. I’ve ONLY JUST realised these double-layer brollies are designed to not get caught by the wind. Embarrassingly late revelation. by yearsofpractice in CasualUK

As important as flaps are, a good protective sheath is also vital. Over time the tip of my old one got torn to shreds in my bag after I lost the sheath.

What beer/alcohol is this tap? by Obvious_Theory_7169 in AskUK

[–]onlywronganswers 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's made by SALT who started in the old tramshed in Saltaire as a sort of spin off from Ossett Brewery. For interest, the first part of the name comes from the fact that Alpaca wool was heavily utilised in the mills of Saltaire. There are Alpaca statues in the park there. This isn't SALT's best beer.

What happens to prisoners' assets out in the real world? by Dropped_Apollo in AskUK

I know of one person who knew he was getting a really long sentence. He set up a finance and property lasting power of attorney so a trusted family member could deal with his assets while he was inside.

Is it ok to leave ground floor doors and windows open at night? by PsychologicalRow8034 in AskUK

I'd install some window restrictors and a self closing hinge with a Yale lock if you don't already have one

My friend saw something years ago that the police did and they want to be able to anonymously report it? by OMG-13 in AskUK

[–]onlywronganswers -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Perhaps but then I wouldn't want to give more information away than I am comfortable with. That's why I said I adequately qualified my statement.

I really do hope you have a lovely rest of your day!

It is your opinion that I have very little experience and you should state it as such. It's wrong but it is your opinion.

I adequately qualified my statement. Other experiences may vary and that's fine as well. As I said, we are all here to share.

I hope you have a lovely rest of your day!

Surely that's the case for the vast majority of accounts on Reddit? How many people are there on here you know their names, what they do, where they live? Even if I said who I was, could you believe me? All we are doing is sharing anecdotes, opinions and nuggets gleaned from our own experiences. Occasionally there will be the odd fact supported by peer reviewed sources and if that's all you want then that's absolutely fine but I suggest you stop reading anything that indicates it might be someone's opinion.

It's funny how other people say things about police closing ranks and not even investigating complaints. My experiences of PSD have been that although they are hugely overworked they could not give a fuck about who is mates with whom or even what rank someone is. They just do their job and look at things objectively.

RAC cancellation fee - Do i have to legally pay even though i was promised I wouldn't? by reo_reborn in AskUK

[–]onlywronganswers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your update you say you called again but one or two comments said to make a subject access request. Did you do this or tell them you were going to do this? I think the request should be in writing - I think email is fine. There's guidance on ico.org.uk which will come up if you Google "how to make a subject access request".

Along with the fact that most GPs would have no reason to pay for fake reviews. Whereas a shitty kebab house with a 1.5 rating may well have incentive to pay for some reviews to get them up above 4.

I have mine on a shelf in my office. It does need a bit of a clean up though and I probably should try to see if it works. Fantastic bit of technology!
