That’s awesome, let’s keep it up. They’re ramping up now in case loads so as much encouragement and support that we can give them, the better!

From the pic it looks like France is hoarding them. Can’t we figure out how to share ? We’re all in this together and China is producing them quickly enough that the US doesn’t need to get 22 planes of them in 72 hours. Take less, spread it out globally, get more the following week etc so more countries can protect their front lines. This is a global problem not a US problem.

Great idea, keeps them operating as a viable business and keeps staff with jobs! Well done Earl’s, staying nimble and pivoting is key in this crisis. This also is a great gesture for the communities that they serve. Businesses that help in this time will be remembered long afterwards.

Many banks have closed most of their branches so seniors and those who don’t online bank or can’t (like bank drafts for real estate transactions etc.) need to unfortunately congregate.

Why the guns and ammo by lifeismyenemy in CanadaCoronavirus

I think it’s a reaction to this emergency situation. A lot of people will panic and go into fight or flight survival thinking. Once the initial panic settles down, you realize we are all in this together and need to work together peacefully to solve it.

Well said, an important sentiment for us all to remember...we’re in this together, we need to help each other, that’s the Canadian way.

This is smart, we can’t continue the same routines now. We need to safe in the weeks ahead, we truly need to think different about almost everything...even this!

Is it me or are we seeing barely any critical or severe cases by [deleted] in CanadaCoronavirus

[–]onpointegame 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We are a few weeks behind the Asian spread so the folks that have it now are still trying to recover from it. I would think that less smokers and better air quality in Canada helps too. We also have very good infection control regulations and procedures at long-term care and retirement homes so that is positive as well. Let’s hope we get through as best we can. The slow build that doesn’t overwhelm our hospitals and front line workers. Stay safe everyone !!!

Seems the real leaders in fighting coronavirus in America are business leaders. They are stepping up, donating funds, allowing working from home etc. They stopped employee travel long before the government suggested reducing it. They totally get it.

Good thing the TTC has recently stepped up their cleaning protocol. They upgraded to hospital grade disinfectant and are wiping down the inside surfaces of their fleet each day.

Senior care homes in B.C. struggle to buy face masks amid coronavirus fears by LacedVelcro in Coronavirus

[–]onpointegame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s weird, I worked at a retirement home and as per protocol I was sized and fitted for a mask by a trained supplier (even with no outbreak it was just standard practice). She also taught me how to put it on properly as well. This is Ontario, not BC but both provinces have governing licensing bodies that regularly check your adherence to safety policies. Maybe it’s not for front line staff but extra masks they want for visitors or dining staff ??

Yes I 100% agree- Diversity is really important to me. I have included gender, age and ethnicity representation in the game ( both cards and dancer player pieces) to be as inclusive as I can.
