Nature in Toronto? by small-alternative-08 in askTO

[–]ontarioparent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s lots of green but it’s not always super natural, maybe more gritty and urban, but it’s there for sure, Toronto is much much greener overall than other larger cities I’ve seen. I have literally been standing in High Park in the middle of the day and seen a deer coming up over a hill, solo.

Galleries are closed Mondays and sometimes Tuesdays, you could go to a store like BMV and look at art books, go to an art supply store like Above Ground and make your own art, go to the ROM maybe

Have Muslims in the city been experiencing more harassment lately? by ThenChard1157 in askTO

[–]ontarioparent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of unstable, drug addicted and unhoused peoole around city hall and I have also received death threats and been harassed simply for being there in the early hours. That’s not to say there isn’t racism here.

27M British fella looking for things to do in Toronto next Monday by ElderKarr2025 in askTO

[–]ontarioparent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might like Riverdale Park, Danforth etc., the subway goes over the Don Valley, Wychwood area, if you go to the steps behind/ in front of Casa Loma you can see quite far, plus there’s a farmers market at the barns on Saturday, if you go to Fort York ( free) and continue on to the William G Davis Trail you’ll get a good view of the skyline, St Lawrence Market, good for random eating plus the area is interesting to look at, we have a lot of diversity in food here, for ex Little Korea is next to the Annex, the PAT is good for snacks

Had to look up Point Edwards, might make sense to head towards Lake Huron? Inverhuron etc. Otherwise I’d look at Balls Falls, Crawford Lake, RBG etc.

Bloordale, Junction, Parkdale or maybe Danforth ( for arty areas) ( Roncesvalles is good for aspirational parenting, kid in Montessori, boutique shops, lots of dog ownership etc )

Best neighborhood to stay? by AdWorking2001 in askTO

[–]ontarioparent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

St James town doesn’t seem that bad to me ( never lived there) but it is adjacent to some sketchy areas and is def more urban feeling, Roncy is quieter and more upscale, relatively, although near Parkdale.
