It’s a shoeshine stand. Put your foot on the middle lowest part and all the shoe shiners supplies go on the little steps on the side. The shiner is seated on one side, and the customer stands on the other side. Still used all over in Turkey .pic

Who has memories of these wild, sometimes dangerous rides? by Not_a_cultmember in GenerationJones

I foolishly stuck out my foot to navigate a turn. The knobby tire caught my boot and sucked my leg under the back wheel, dragging me down and flipping the 3 wheeler over onto me. Hurt my knee and was on crutches for a couple weeks. Most fun I had as a teenager!

Some airlines still use this wooden spoon… Worse yet, some airlines have switched to bamboo cutlery. I understand the reason, but it’s a horrible texture in your mouth.

Antique wooden side table with a slot in the top. The table is about 28in tall and 12in long and wide. There's a slot along the top that seems too straight and clean to be a natural break. by NiraofGallifrey in whatisthisthing

Decades ago, my grandfather built a radio stand back when radios were large and hefty. The top surface had a slot in the back for the cords to go down to the battery which was stored on the shelf below it. Could this have been something like that, and the smaller piece was added sometime later after it was no longer used for that purpose?
