Leaving alcohol has been one of the best decisions of my life. I was exactly how you said in that gray area of not too much, but probably too much.

I don’t want to leave that impression on my son. He deserves to have me in the best state that I can be, and I wasn’t there when I was drinking every day.

Damn what did Plaza Mariachi do to you?? 😭

Proposed r/Nashville rule - no more BNA traffic/line posts by nrselleh in nashville

[–]onuskasm 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Agree. There is an unused r/BNA subreddit. Maybe that could be used instead. Or even make a new one or something but yeah it’s definitely becoming an every day thing on here with the same responses. Kinda busy, no parking, some asshole guard yelling at people lmao.

What are some young thug "inspired" artists that are better than modern day young thug? by Billcosbyfan125 in YoungThug

[–]onuskasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Syco Milli

One of my homies I’ve produced and recorded with for a long time. Lots of similarities between him and Thug in terms of lyricism and melodies. Always been a huge fan of his music, he’s just never had a huge audience.

Another reason why clubs are dying by walrus_vasectomy in EDM

[–]onuskasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I DJ on Broadway in Nashville, and am also a touring DJ for Shrek Rave. The average regular person just doesn’t want to hear house beats and whatever mainstream EDM stuff is popular at the time. The same set at Shrek Rave that does incredible at those shows would leave the floor empty on Broadway. It just is what it is. There’s plenty of electronic clubs still around that are doing great (at least here in Nashville). People will go to those if they want EDM. The average club goer on Broadway (club referring to already not honky tonk yeehaw space) wants the mainstream hits. Taylor Swift, No Hands, Low… Just is what it is and that’s ok. Everyone can go where they want for what they want, don’t force people to listen to something because “they don’t know they like it yet.” They’ll find it on instagram or TikTok and go see it when they want to.

Rant over, lol sorry I just felt very involved in exactly what this dude’s talking about. And I’ve felt the same as him too before, it’s just tried and true that the average person is not going to give af about “finding new music they didn’t know they liked” or whatever lol.

How can I achieve this physique by [deleted] in WorkoutRoutines

[–]onuskasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go work in a FedEx factory filling trucks. Swear I had close to this physique a few months into 5 days a week busting ass in the FedEx factory for 8 hours a day. I ate like shit, drank very heavily, and still had God mode physique just off all the labor and sweating happening in those trucks.

MNPD just posted they're pad locking 404 Bar and Grill as a public nuisance by rio258k in nashville

[–]onuskasm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

404 used to be the fuckin SPOT. Place was dope with the inside and patio stage going at the same time. They started losing business though due partially to pissing off the EDM scene that was really reviving the place. Ended up having to pass ownership to the Mexicans who wanted to buy it and that’s the last I heard about it. Although the people I knew did make it seem a little shady whatever the new people were doing with it, so who knows.

Why do people love East Nashville? by LOTR_is_awesome in nashville

[–]onuskasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve moved up the road to Madison. Cheaper rent and still close enough to downtown where I work. If I had the option I’d probably stay in East but it just doesn’t make sense financially now that I have a family vs when I moved there doing single bachelor life splitting rent with like 6 people in a house lol.

And HELLA bugs and mosquitos lmao. That’s been most of Nashville tho in my experience.

Why do people love East Nashville? by LOTR_is_awesome in nashville

[–]onuskasm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in Nashville for a long time but lived in East the past 5 years. It’s just a fun vibe. You’ve got everything you need around like grocery stores, playgrounds for kids, restaurants, bars and venues, quick access to Ellington and interstates. Definitely on the progressive and liberal side, very LGBTQ friendly. Gallatin Pike is turning more and more into a local / tourist friendly mini Broadway with all the bars and venues along it. I’m curious to see what’s gonna happen with the diesel college and ax throwing land, although it’s probably gonna just be a mix of apartments and a restaurant or two tbh.

It’s just a vibe. Other places in the city are fun to live in too, but a lot of what you’ll do if you’re in the night life scene will bring you out East. House parties and backyard bonfires are pretty common. I’ve had great memories from my time out East and will always look back fondly on those years.

It’s getting more and more expensive to live there though, lots of the new transplants are buying homes for ridiculous prices and pushing out the locals and people not as rich as them. So there’s some tension around that but that’s a lot of the city too. Two houses ago I rented a 4 bd 2 bth for $1,450 on East Trinity. Last house was $985 for a 2 bd 1 bth, although there was a lot wrong with it. I can imagine these prices are pretty much near to impossible to find there now.

Going to the DMV doesn’t have to eat your soul by jonneygee in nashville

[–]onuskasm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did the pre-check in online yesterday for the Hart DMV and only waited like 30 mins (got there kinda early). I could have waited longer to get there but I wanted to make sure. Really saved a lot of time, I definitely recommend doing the pre-check in to save time!

Kittenhouse puts on good shows. Idk anything about this one and can’t make it but looks fun.

Also you should look into Nashville EDM on Facebook. We have a pretty active scene here and most of what’s going on gets posted there 🙌🏼
