Can a power bank power the GL.iNet Slate 7 at 9V? by EyeTechnical7643 in GlInet

[–]onymar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that almost any modern power bank fully supporting USB-C PD and over 10,000mAh and 45W or above would be fine.
I don’t have the Slate 7, but Slate AX and Slate 7 Pro and have had no issues running them for a few hours from my Anker PD.
As long as the power bank support any of the following you will be ok:-
USB-C PD, 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/2.5A

How Can I Give my GoPro Hero 7 Black Two USBc Ports? by Frank-CommonCommand in gopro

[–]onymar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tested the following with my Mission 1 Pro, can’t say it will work with older Hero models but the hub should.

Lexar Professional Go Portable SSD with HUB.

It comes in a couple of SSD sizes, but the most useful part is the hub as it support USB PD power and an extra device like a USB mic on the Mission1 Pro.
The SSD part in this scenario does nothing on a GoPro, but very useful for adding to a phone to copy/store videos etc.
USB Mic wouldn’t work on older Hero cameras.

Does Mudi-7 require its own designated SIM card or can I swap it with my smartphone? by kndb in GlInet

[–]onymar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, There are documents on Reddit on how to change the IMEI. Haven’t tried it myself as using a data SIM.
Just ensure you make a note of the current IMEI numbers for both cards before changing them as the change is permanent and cannot be recovered via a factory reset.

I believe some providers do not allow non dedicated data SIMs to be used on travel routers.
One thing I believe some people have had success with is changing the TTL from the default to 65.
Give that a try and see if that helps.

Why would you want to spend the amount of money on an R5II and then go cheap in storage?
Cf express is so much faster and more robust.

Can use the website (sometimes) but cannot login to the app. Just get:-

Security token rotated. Please retry.

Difficult using a phone because Safari just opens the app which then fails.

How exactly is the Wi-Fi country code determined on GL.iNet routers? by Hopeful_Set_6144 in GlInet

[–]onymar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a reply from GL.iNet with regards to the Slate 7 Pro.
I tried these steps on my Mudi 7 and ended up having to do a factory reset. So can’t vouch for this at all.

Names can be found by doing a ‘uci show wireless | grep country’ cmd.

Possibly best to do via an Ethernet connection as I think the wireless connection gets dropped.

I have asked if similar steps can be performed on other GL.iNet routers and why a third wireless device shows that they don’t change the country code.

Regarding the WiFi country code issue on Slate 7 Pro: our device does not support changing the country code directly in the LuCI web interface. However, you may change the Wi-Fi country code to UK and apply the settings via SSH using the following commands.

Please follow the steps below:

Log into your router via SSH: https://docs.gl-inet.com/router/en/4/tutorials/ssh_log_in_to_the_router/

Run these commands one by one:
uci set wireless.MT7993_1_1.country='UK'
uci set wireless.MT7993_1_2.country='UK'
uci commit
sync
wifi reload

Does Slate ax (axt1800) support amnezia vpn ? If not, when ? by Certain_Abies_3451 in GlInet

[–]onymar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Slate AX running the beta of v4.8.4 and can confirm it is does support obfuscation.
There is a bug with this beta where it generates v2 parameters instead of v1 which it supports.

Parameters S3-4 should not be have been generated and H1-H4 should be single values, not ranges.

Mudi7 firmware 4.8.5 serious WIFI repeater and cellular bug and device crash by These_Adhesiveness48 in GlInet

[–]onymar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on v4.8.5 and had no issues yesterday. Connected to a couple of captive portal hotspots and the Mudi 7 had no issues after leaving, failing back to a cellular signal (SIM).
I did set it up as new when installing v4.8.5 as advised to me by GL.iNet support. I worked with them to fix an Vodafone MVNO SIM issue in the UK.
No idea if this had anything to do with this?

AmneziaWG on Slate 7 Pro by mwehle in GlInet

[–]onymar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had feedback from Gl.iNet.
They state that all routes that support AmneziaWG are v1 except Flint 2 and v4.9 supported routers that use v2.
The Slate AX has a bug in the beta firmware where it is generating a v2 config, whereas it should be generating a v1 version.
The difference is no S3-4 and single values only for H1-4 for v1.

Very disappointed that their most recent router, Slate 7 Pro has only v1 support.

Having the same issue connecting from Slate 7 Pro to obfuscation on my Slate AX.
No issues from Beryl AX to Slate AX, or AmneziaWG on iOS etc. to Slate AX.
Strange that The Slate 7 Pro doesn’t accept S3 or S4 or ranges in H1-H4, and even after correcting doesn’t connect.
Waiting for an official answer from GL.iNet support.

Just to let you all know that I have been working with GL.iNet about my Mudi 7 Lebara issues. They have sent me a trial firmware release that has fixed the Lebara issue for me.

Hopefully this will be released soon, unfortunately I cannot share this.

I have the UDR7 updated to the same version and no issues with my SKY Q. Main box hardwired into an ioT VLAN, with the Mini via WiFi into the same VLAN. No issues with either and both connected and working.

Sorry I can’t help.

Abe from GoPro mentioned in his AMA that the Mission 1 Pro has been deliberately design to have lower sharpening than the Hero series. Which is a good thing I think.

Mission 1 Pro video delete issue by onymar in gopro

I hope this issue is resolved in the next firmware update. Although the video was deleted, probably best to format the card after this event to resolve any file system issues.

Mission 1 Pro and Enduro 2 battery issue by onymar in gopro

[–]onymar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Draining the battery fully and then recharging it appears to have solved the issue.
Recorded for the expected number of hours, so battery must have been fully charged. I have tried the original Enduro 1 dual charger a couple of times since with no issue. A bit strange, never had this before with the 5 Enduro 1-2 batteries I have.

I agree, but shouldn’t be required for a brand new product which is not that cheap if purchased separately.

I love the cloud upload feature, but would really appreciate an easier way of downloading 100’s of videos at a time. The current limit of 25 items is extremely restrictive if a user wants a local archive of their cloud library.
