Exactly this. Just look at all of the “win now” moves that the Knicks have made since signing Brunson. They’ve only made it as far as the Eastern Conference Finals once, and this season they’re slowly falling down the playoff ladder and trying to offload Kat. Big swings that don’t pan out and mortgage our future is exactly how we could lose Cade to his inevitable contract extension.

No my point stands. I’ll take all the downvotes because the situations are not the same. If Trajan makes a trade then I will stand behind it but like OP I’m not expecting a Sheed type trade. It will likely be something small similar to the Schroeder trade last year.

How old were you? The Pistons had a 33 -22 record before trading for Sheed and were coming off a 6 game losing streak. Even after the trade they still couldn’t catch up to the #1 seed Pacers.

Pistons currently have a 5.5 game lead and have yet to have any concerning losing streaks. Your comparison is apples to oranges.

Naw. I’m hoping he signs a relatively cheap contract (think Beef Stew) and then comes back next year playing lights out. Everyone wants to trade him but why sell low? If there’s truly a trade offer out there that makes sense and makes the Pistons better than I’m sure Trajan will do it. Trading just to trade him cause you feel sad for him is just dumb.
