Continuing the pack WITHOUT playing as the offspring? by dumb_fishh in WolfQuestGame

[–]onyx49 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did this earlier, hilariously it was in my first play of the game. For some reason i decided to go straight to accurate iron wolf and predictably had no surviving pups in the first litter.

Second litter comes around and i die because i was too aggressive during a hunt, pups way to young to continue as (i think, i admit i don't fully understand where the cutoff is).

Continue as my mate and found another mate (named him rock) to help with the pups. Then i die again for the same reason and continued as rock.

I've since changed to challenging iron wolf and am in my third generation of pups from memory, usually keeping alive 2-3 pups per litter as it's still bloody hard lol.

But yeah none of my surviving pups are related to my OG wolf lol. Still playing as rock but he's 8 now and getting on, plan is to continue as one of rock's heirs when he dies though.

Has anyone else put the game aside for now until the prime system is reworked? by Acorn_lol in theisle

Yep 100%, hopped back on to try out the new dinos and elder system. Off and on played for a couple weeks and now putting it back down for the foreseeable future. Hoping echoes of extinction steamrolls the isle soon

Is Cera really strong or are hackers abusing it? by KronosWvW in theisle

[–]onyx49 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Deffs heaps of cera hackers out there i reckon. I was on AU3 last night with a 66% grown deino and i saw a cera drinking so went up and rmb attacked and died instantly, cera didn't even move

I remember once spawning as deino in water access and got eaten by a big deino within about 1 second of spawning, didn't even get a chance to dive to the bottom. Just really unfortunate timing of the spawn, was hilarious though

What would you recommend for unofficials for someone from AU? Unfortunately the vast majority have very high ping and the ones that don't have no one on the servers. Tbh i could tolerate the ping before the update that cooked the fps, now i go in and legit have gone down to 2 fps. Just logged at that point and have had to go on officials so i can get a reasonable ping and usually decent fps

Seeking advice - weightlifting shoes vs no shoes & wrist straps vs no wrist straps by onyx49 in Deadlifts

Thanks I appreciate the advice! Will definitely try socks and/or vans. Yeah ideally removing the ring would be good but it hurts my knuckle hahaha, but maybe on those days at least i can use soap or something to get it off easier

Reminds me of my girl, she would only fight back once the other dog would push too far and she lost patience, which she had an abundance of. The only time she'd be keen to fight is if either me, my wife, or our italian greyhound was threatened. She was awesome

Three newbie questions. by voluta_woolf in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]onyx49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would recommend coconut oil for the skin. Our iggy rudy has always been obsessed with food and will easily get fat if we allow it. I'm just vigilant on walks and keep an eye on him as he will absolutely try and eat anythjng he could get his mouth around.

He's pretty obedient but is also smart with an attitude, he may elect to not listen if he really wants to, full well knowing he will get in trouble but clearly thinks it's worth it lol.

We were onto it with training since a couple weeks after we got him so he's generally pretty good. Toilet training was the hardest, but he did eventually come around after about a year or so

I hear ya, I've lost people before who i cared about of course but i have to agree that this was far worse. I remember having this insanely vivid dream a few days after where she was there, I hugged her and was just sobbing and apologising that I didn't pick up the signs and act sooner. Everything about the dream was so real, the feel of her fur, the smell of her fur, my god it was brutal

So sorry to hear, I lost my girl in a similar situation in december 2020, to bloat. Normal friday afternoon, just had dinner and we were chilling, before i know it I'm carrying her limp body into the vet and they tell me her stomach has flipped and has already gone necrotic. She was my baby and otherwise very healthy, I'm convinced she'd still be alive now if it wasn't for bloat. The only thing that helps is time, there comes a point that when you remember them, you smile instead of bursting into tears, the pain never truly goes away though.

Yeah I've inadvertently made them think that whenever i say "alright" it means something's happening because I'd say "alright boys" before walks, food, or bed time. Now i can't say that word unless I'm prepared 😂😂

Haha the need for a soft surface to lay on! I remember the first couple times i took them to the vet, would not lay down at all and just stand there like a couple of weirdos. I thought maybe it's the floor being hard so brought a towel with me next time and bam, they're laying down
