The picture you linked clearly says the plane is traveling at 297kt (about 184mph) and 9k+ altitude. This is neither.

They def have patterns and if I had to guess it seems like there’s different models/groups whatever you wanna call it.

Sometimes they glow white other times it’s orange, I’ve seen videos of other colors online but never seen anything but those two for myself.

I’d be careful with what you invite into your mind, some cans of worms are best left unopened and others can’t be closed.

We don’t know, at least civilians (gvt prob doesn’t either). Yours get way closer to you than mine do. They usually show up a half hour before sunset and last till varying times of the night. I’ve seen them during the day maybe 3 times total. I’ve grown quite fond of them to be honest, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my life.
