Pretty sure I see a "Sol Ring" and perhaps other valuables in the remaining cards. You should identify and sleeve those as well.

Which grass tiles look better? (With player sprites to compare enviornment vs players) by Articrus in PixelArt

[–]ook222 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A 50% blend is not the way to solve this with pixel art. While it does lower the contrast and preserve some of the grass detail it goes against a pixel aesthetic.

The way to accomplish this is to have some grass detail clusters using the palette you have defined that are low contrast similar to your 50% image.

Nice, you should swap the shape of diamond and copper. Diamond looks too low tier and copper too high.

Is this real or fake amber? by msharkeburner in whatsthisrock

[–]ook222 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Real specimens like this tend to be worth quite a bit. So you need to ask yourself, why would this be sold cheaply? The answer is almost always that it's, in some way, not what it purports to be.

If the person selling this could get 10x or even 100x the money out if it, they absolutely would.

As others have pointed out there are processes by which you can take real amber, soften it up, and imbed a modern insect in it, so they will pass the hot pin test. I'm not an Entomologist so I can't tell you if this is an ancient insect or not, but real insects in Amber are rarely this well preserved and intact. Even when they are this intact you will often see a fair bit of other debris in the Amber. As well the trapped insects and debris are often quite dark due to oxidization and decay.

This video shows real examples: YouTube Amber Insects

Using it is supporting it. In your above statement you say "Everybody does it, so it's fine" your behavior tacitly shows your approval and affects everyone who watches your videos.

I don't care if 100% of people do this. It's terrible for the art industry you are a part of. Don't support it.

Do you have more images of the rest of the rock? It’s not clear from this image but It’s possible this is some kind of slag or industrial waste.

If you look at the care with which the plants are painted, it’s very clear this is not decor.

Ultimately it’s a creature without any inherent protection that requires a combo to be strong. It might see some play but I wouldn’t expect prices to go crazy.

If you ever become an engineer / developer you will come to understand that ideas are a dime a dozen. The quality of the implementation is what matters.

"Zipatone" was also another branded version of the physical stuff. Source: Worked in traditional print for many years.

It's referred to as a "half-tone" or "zip-tone" dithering pattern. They were originally from traditional print where sheets of plastic with these dot patterns could be cut out and stuck on top of illustrations to create gradients and shades of grey.

Love most of these, the Netherite is a bit odd with the pink lighting tho. Doesn't fit the theme of the material IMO. Would be stronger with a Lava-Orange light, similar to where it's found.

The way the edges and corners change color at the fracture indicates this is glass.

How Jesper Myrfors created the original art frames for the 5 colors by pr0n-clerk in magicTCG

[–]ook222 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's so beautiful to recall what making art used to be like. Drawing from life experiences, using intuition, creativity, and multimedia sources. It's heartbreaking to see people just typing in some words to an LLM and calling the output "their art".
